I received an email this morning from the White House. It is promoting their new page, Reality Check, that gives information about proposed health care reform. I thought those who are interested in current health care politics would like to check it out.

Sorry, forgot to proofread. S/b "proposed".

Halfway down the page:

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to [email protected].

Hmm. Stalinist Russia, anyone?

Also, try redstate.com for another view on the health care situation.

Thank you.

The White House wanted to know what was being said on radio and TV as well as web sites and e-mail chain letters so they could respond.

This page is the result.

@tiggerforhim:

Interesting. I always thought that Stalinist Russia was characterized by political assassinations and mass murders, not health care reform. Perhaps I should read up on my history.

I've been to redstate.com many times and you can find interesting opinions, editorial cartoons and discussions there. But I don't find it a good resource for credible facts IMHO.

Got the same letter. They forgot to mention I would pay more and Non-Americans would be covered and ----------- I just do not trust this administration.

I think it's so cute that the Right is so righteously indignant over this, the WH's attempt to address misinformation being circulated about the healthcare reform proposals, as a fascist attempt to spy on Americans, when it is a drop in the ocean compared to the widespread, illegal monitoring of telephone calls and e-mails carried out by the Shrub administration. I don't recall anyone on the Right getting whipped into a frenzy over how evil and fascist that was ...

:DYes, please do check it out. You owe it to yourself to know first hand or be informed , so you do not get distracted w/ the other claim or propaganda from the opposing parties or entities.

But I sure would like to share my opinion , so please bear w/ me and hear me. :coollook: Actually this is a reply from my daughter Robin and she voiced it so well that I would like to share it .

Qoute....

I'd like to add that we already have "socialism" here. Our fire department and police are government run. Could you imagine if fires and crime were a for-profit industry? If they wouldn't send a firetruck to your burning home because you couldn't afford it? Or the police wouldn't come when you called 911 because there was nothing in it for them? What a mess that would be! Now, just for a moment, think about how insidious it is to make illness a for-profit industry...for starters, capitalistic doctors are going against their oath if they don't help the sick because they can't afford it. Do we really want people like that in charge of our well being? Second, in the system we have now there is a huge percentage of service workers unable to attain healthcare. Did you know that there is a new outbreak of tuberculosis in this country? Do you realize that by denying people health care that the person making your salad in some restaurant might be coughing TB on your lettuce?

We live in a system now where if a loved one dies, the family is left in financial ruin. That is just plain wrong! Hospitals are closing down, and a huge percentage of people passing you on the street have no healthcare. This is indicative of a broken system. Why resist change? Anything would be better than this.

I suggest that some people watch "sicko", and then decide...

Don't forget that education is also run by the government. I've never understood why anyone would trust the government with their child's future, but not trust them to set up an alternative insurance plan. Does anyone else see the irony in that?

:D I believe that the opposing parties , of course mostly composed of suppliers, some health professionals , such as physicians , and even the AMA ( to protect their "birthrights" of power and control of the medical society ) hospitals and a lot of other entities out there currently raping our health system , and making ridiculous and extravagant profits to fill their bottomless pockets while people are falling thru the cracks and do not have a medical insurance. It is embarrassing that a country such as ours, is not set up to provide insurance for all !!!!

Why is that ?

i do not trust the government with my child's education and would never put my kid in a government indoctrination camp. this is actually a perfect example of what happens when the government controls something....they screw it up. high school grads from government skrewls are mostly bumbling idiots who could not even name who the speaker of the house is, much less get into a discussion regarding the three branches of government in the united states. ask a typical high school kid to solve a simple problem involving a quadratic equation. they will look at you and drool. every year we (taxpayers) throw more money at public education and each year our kids get more stoopid!

another example...cash for clunkers. this bs lasted one week before running out of money. to save it they had to steal money from another government program. cash for clunkers is a drop in the bucket compared to the socialist health insurance they want to force on us. imagine how much money they will soon be stealing from us when that program fouls up.

there are better plans out there that have been proposed than this obamacare crap.
