Dear Fellow Nurses, as I know some of you are undecided voters and have seen some of the recent Swift boat Veteran's Attack Ads on John Kerry. These Ads questioned the Validity of whether he deserved these Medals.I have a few also-though not the caliber of Mr. Kerry's. I know these medals are not issued lightly and it pains me as a viet nam era vet to see another Vet attacked and smeared unfairly.All people serving on the SAME boat verify Kerry's story; the official navy record verifies Kerry's account of what happened. 3 of the Swift Boat Vets accusing Kerry been discredited. Mr, John Oneil-author of the book and another accuser, who never served at that exact moment, as Kerry-has not been seen since these 3 vets- were discredited by official navy records:nono: . Silver,Bronze and Purple Hearts Awards and Medals are not handed out casually-they are vetted through the chain of Command--as it always was and must be-to insure Only those Vets deserving of these Sacred(to me) Medals receive them. Mr. Max Clleand, a triple amputee vet and very highly decorated and also the ex-Director of the VA Medical System-looked at and through ( I Felt) ME on the Television on the closing night of this year's democratic convention and said -"John Kerry didn't fail his Shipmates on his SwiftBoat in Viet Nam and He won't FAIL YOU"! A very poignant moment for me as a Vet. And I beleive him with all my heart and soul.He always looked out for us vets during his tenure as a VA Director. May God Bless you Max!!. Well said, as another Vietnam vet I feel the "swift boat vets" have done a terrible disservice to all vets and to our political process. The GOP members that have now ruthlessly attacked 3 very decorated Vietnam vets,inorder to gain there own political power, in the last 4 years have done much harm to the Republican party. Remember that Most of the current leaders of the Republican Party have never even served in any branch of the US military let alone served in a war zone .

Well for Bush the shoe is on the other foot now with his ANG service;hope the press runs with this one as they have with the (not so) Swift boat Ads.:rotfl:
