Phone call

  1. Every since I joined ANA I have been getting AJN. I have had several cards from AJN asking for info about professional status. I never filled any of them out. Last night I got phone call from them asking for that same info. I told them I did not fill out the cards because I don't work. They said they would mark me down as inactive. They already had my address and they called me so they had my phone number.(I could swear I changed my phone number since I signed up but they had new one). The only thing about it that made me uncomfortable was that I could hear noises on phones in the back like telemarkerters make. I am worrying that it was somesort of trick to get me to renew magazines or sign up for magazines. I did not give them any info because they already had it. No one said anything about renewals or signing up for magazine but you know the tricks telemarketers pull. Please don't tell me I should have hung up or said this or that. It is to late for that now. What I want to know is if anyone recieved a similar call that turned into magazines they did not want.

There should be no telemarketers calling to renew your AJN subscription -- because it comes free with your ANA membership. There is no subscription to renew. You could always contact AJN & ask them if it really was them making that call to you.
