NYSNA Nurses: Dedicated to Sandy Disaster Relief

New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) is working to help people affected by hurricane Sandy in Staten Island, Coney Island, the Rockaways and other sites, going door to door to assess prescription and medical needs and provide assistance to stranded residents.

Watch this video to see RNs in action helping elderly patients trapped in high-rise buildings without electricity, water, even an elevator. Nurses climb up to fifteen flights of stairs in pitch blackness to reach people, some of whom have been unable to leave their apartments for over two weeks.
