Re: Info: Where can I go to get health care regardless of my ability to pay?
Tinynurse-I'm in the same boat. Just crossing my fingers and hoping nothing happens. I did get pretty sick last week, but it was just a nasty GI flu thing that was going around, and there's nothing much to do about that anyways. I imagine if I was truly sick, I would drag myself into work and get one of the docs at the hospital to look at me, and if it's car accident-related car insurance would have me covered. It's sad when you have to think this stuff out. Anyways, I used to live in a county where there was a group of free clinics started, and then if you're in a city like Philly, the city gov sponsors health clinics. Can your kids get CHIP while you're waiting for your health insurance to kick in? It's kind of sad when us nurses have to worry about things like this when we take care of everyone all day. Best of luck and good health to you.
