What, no one cared to comment on the "But hospitals said they are forced into these recruitment measures because experienced nurses are more interested in research than in basic patient care." remark at the end of this article. I know from personal experience that most nurses that leave the bedside feel like they have left part of themselves behind. Myself I felt like my heart was ripped out.
