Unsafe pt. ratios, no lunch, what's a break? Sound familiar? Why do we as PROFESSIONALS put up with this? Because "this is just how it is", or "that's how it's always been?" Safe pt. ratios = great pt. care and of course positive outcomes for pts. How can we stand up for ourselves and our pts.? Maybe we could start a union? Any thoughts?

What is to stop you from calling the NNOC? Give them a call, contact a bunch of friends from work, and have a pot luck-union meeting in your house.

Thanks for the tip. I think CO is a right to work state unfortunately. I need to do more research, but now I've got somewhere to start.

The NNOC has organized nurses in anti union places like Texas, Florida, Arizona, etc. It can be done.
Call them and get the ball rolling!
