The expert panel that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on immunization practices issued its recommendations for flu vaccine administration in the latest issue of MMWR Recommendations and Reports.

I think that immunization is better handled in the community by the PCP, and not during an acute hospitalization. Unfortunately, hospitals are pushing 100% vaccination compliance to satisfy JCAHO or worse yet to qualify for magnet status.
