Please help your fellow Nurses in Orlando they are desperate. Orlando Health has spit in the face of Nursing. Please help them by signing a petition to stop this huge pay cut at change.org http://www.change.org/petitions/orlando-health-stop-nightshift-differential-cuts-to-nurses

"Orlando Health announced Monday, August 5 that they will be cutting the night and weekend shift differential to thousands of employees, across 8 area hospitals, to go in effect September 8. These cuts are more than 50% of the current rate and will result to each an individual loss upwards of $600/month, $7000-$15,000/year. A majority of the employees affected are Nurses, who are already notoriously underpaid and overworked. Corporate members are denying any request for negotiations, and gave less than 1-month notice for employees to acclimate to this substantial financial blow. The Orlando health corporation decided they want to decrease pay significantly, with no decrease in employee workload."

PLEASE! Your help is desperately needed.

By now the night shift will have seen the effects of the decreased shift differential debacle. The first of the blood letting the administrative leeches have in store for us. The Alms for the Poor, aka " merit raises" are also available, nauseating is my only comment. Going into the weekend I am sure the Flying Monkeys and their acting leader will have a good laugh at our expense. They are truly afraid of the employees organizing. The latest propaganda is in regard to the contract negotiations at Jackson Healthcare. Everyone do your own research as ORH information is full of have truths/ half lies. " Proletarier aller Länder, vereinigt euch!"

Pathetic is such a weak term. Bile sucking nematodes is more apropos for the Board and administration.

They may have dropped the house on the wicked old witch; but the great and powerful Oz has not been great nor powerful, just a big impotent bore.

Unfortunately, you are right. Get another job. It will take them a year or two to figure it out while sucking the staff that stays dry.

We organized at my hospital more than 20 years ago.

1/2 of our RNs and pharmacists were laid off replaced by "assistant techs" from housekeeping and dietary. They got two days of training. One day was CPR and the other was on the unit with a nurse.

The only economic issue was that they eliminated all holiday OT except Christmas and Thanksgiving. (Before we had 6 holidays)

Our employer insurance was a terrible choice of plans. The hospital corporation and health insurance company had the same board members.

It took some time but now we are not a for profit anymore. That only lasted 4 years, I thing partly because we organized.

We have excellent staffing, charge nurses have no assignment so can truly be a resource and coordinate care on the unit, and break relief nurses take report and take over patients while we take meal and rest breaks.

We worked with thousands of other nurses to achieve a safe staffing ratio law and a whistle blower law.

We got our holiday pay back, have better insurance choices with different companies, and have a nice retirement plan.

Many of us are still at our hospital and we have welcomed fine nurses who will carry on the kindness and helpfulness to our patients and each other when we are retired.

The struggle was worth it. The struggle continues.

Orlando Health nurses are in my thoughts and prayers as you organize for your patients, yourselves and coworkers, and your community.

Another week begins in the land OH. What the flying monkeys have in store for rank and file this is known only to them and there consultants. How much more blood can be extracted from an already hypovolemic stone. I "sincerely" hope all had a good weekend, at the country clubs, and art shows, and dining at expensive restaurant. While the people who do the real work of a hospital, the patient care providers, attempt to maintain their dignity! while being paid drastically less! working with old outdated equipment! less staffing in critical areas. Thankfully the professionalism of the staff is in my humble opinion the only reason this system is still functioning

Well it looks like the flying monkeys are still in charge. These well versed avian simians,surely on the advice of another consulting firm, have violated completely the spirt of the NLRB regulations. The half truths/ half lies that emanate daily from the anti-union boiler room is ridiculous. Focus has truly been lost on what really matters. Taking care of our patients, taking care of our employees. Orlando Health has become a huge dysfunctional family. In the Parent/ Child model; do as you are told, we know what is good for you. The adult/adult model of understanding, listening, and partnership does not exist. This is going to be an on going set of trials and tribulations. No winners all losers.

Good information, it's about time. Orlando Health is skating on the thin ice of Lake Beauty. It would have been preferable to have heard from a Flying Monkey not one of their lower level minions. So it goes.

Value creation ineptness continues with the "downsizing" of more departments. As per the "recommendations " of Deloitte Consulting, peruse the preceding regarding some of Deloitte's previous work product. I wonder who is responsible for bringing this blood sucking consulting firm into our family.
