$400,000 given by 22 donors from health care industry
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's inaugural committee received at least $2.7 million in donations to pay for the two days of events, and the biggest contribution came from the health care industry.
Contributions of at least $15,000 came from insurance giant American International Group, the California Hospital Association, Allstate Insurance and Health Net. Twenty-two donors from the health care industry provided the governor's celebration planners at least $400,000.
The money, most of which was not reported by the inaugural committee until Friday, was received as Schwarzenegger and top staff continued to work behind closed doors on a plan for overhauling the state's troubled health care system -- a plan that is due out Monday...
