I was out three weeks with mine. I shouldn't have gone back as soon as I did because I was a floor nurse at the time, but I healed quickly (and I insisted because I really needed the money).

Of course, your mileage may vary and your surgeon is the best person to advise you. I urge you to go along with whatever he recommends.

When I had total knee replacement, I was back at work 18 days after the first one & 21 days after the second one. I had discussed at length with my surgeon the necessity of getting back to work as fast as possible. This discussion took place before I even scheduled the surgery. He told me exactly what I would have to do to make that happen & I buckled down & did what he said.
