Any Visually Impaired Nurses Out There?

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if there were any visually impaired nurses (or nursing students) on here. I'm currently a pre nursing student (just applied to the program), and I was hoping to connect with others who have vision impairments and discuss different accommodations and such.

I'm starting nursing school in less than a week: I'm legally blind in my left eye so I have pretty much no depth perception.

I currently work as an ER tech and I am fine.

Do you have decent vision with corrective lenses? If so, you should be fine.

I am legally blind in my right eye, have been a nurse for 20+ years and never had any issue.

What kind of visual impairment do you have?

Hi..I am a pre-nursing student! I do not call myself visually impaired yet but I have been diagnosed with a juvenile form of macular degeneration...i am struggling with whether or not I should change my major. I'm currently 20/70 and 20/25. I'd love to hear all of your stories or advice!

I have albinism. My vision is 20/200 and can't be corrected with glasses. Any advice for someone starting nursing school this spring?
