Nursing is a piece of cake they say -- Well, it isn't. There's a lot of work to it. You will need to lift heavy objects.... Are you ready for nursing?

I meant to get built for nursing and started lifting weights occasionally, but I got too lazy to keep up with it. I need to start again, for sure. Patients are heavy!

And when this guy goes to the doctor next week for a routine physical, he'll be told he actually has a cancer that causes really weird tumors to bulge out all over... cause those ain't muscles.

Physically I think I'm weak BUT I find myself complaining less than most of the kids in my class,I see blood vomit poop and say its just life. I never get tired of the work I go through but its some of the nurses attitudes that bring me down

Heh, cute. Just started a strength training program. I'm still a scrawny little thing but I've only gone once and ooph...it hurt.

I started lifting weights in preparation for nursing school and I've been going to the gym regularly for 2 years. I'm a guy too so I suppose this helps. Anything to make clinicals a tad easier lol

patients are indeed heavy however there are methods and techniques on how to carry or move patients. we could always ask for assistance though.

My PT is a marathon runner and tri-athlete and all that stuff. I'm an cranky old lady in a wheelchair. I had a little problem last week so cut my weights way down (more than half) for a few days. I said, "I feel kinda stupid, lifting these baby weights." She looked at me, stone-faced, and said, "You're still lifting more than I am." That made me laugh all day! I guess 30 years of lifting patients leaves its mark!

honsetly your right its your colleagues sometimes that holds your mood
