This is a discussion on need some insight into ga consent order and surrender of ga license. in Nurses / Recovery, part of General Nursing ... i am licensed in s.c., fla, and ga. i self reported past dui convictions and other misdemeanors. ...
by virgojd Dec 28, '12i am licensed in s.c., fla, and ga. i self reported past dui convictions and other misdemeanors. the s.c. suggested i voluntarily surrender which i did because i didn't plan on working there any longer and couldn't afford the fee along with the other 2 states. she stated i could come back after finishing IPN program and reinstate. so, i'm got the consent orders for fla and ga. they both fined me. in fla for IPN you have to schedule a IPN EVAL with an additionologist which can run up to 800 dollars. so along with that, i have a 500 fine for ga and 750 for fla. i'm working a min wage job at parttime hours. my IPN EVAL is end of february. i'm so stupid and just forgot that i had quarterly reports due in 3 days (dec 31) for ga. in my chaotic mind, i just stopped worrying about every thing thinking after feb i would start dealing with everything. so, today a little voice in my head said look at the consent order for ga and that's when i realized i will be in violation in 3 days. so, i've decided to surrender my ga license which is my home state license and keep my fla because that is where i want to live and work for the remainder of my nursing career. i'm 53. i would like to get rid of the extra expense (fine) and stress and just deal with one state.
my question is:
has anyone had this situation? will fla still allow me to participate in IPN if i surrender my home license?
would appreciate any insight. i know this is not a legal site and only can share experiences!
thanks for any suggestions.

- Dec 30, '12 by virgojdthanks, i am sober and have been for over a year. Why do you find it doubtful. have any experience with this?Last edit by virgojd on Dec 30, '12
- Jan 2 by mona1023I would think that surrenduring your licenses looks like you are not willing to be compliant with monitoring in those states. Can you just not renew those licenses when they are up for renewal?
I don't have personal experience with this, but these are just my thoughts. Best of luck to you.
