I will probably be on probation in the next month or so but am wanting to go to Hawaii on vaca in Sept. Does anyone know if you can test while out of state?

Thanks!

In all honesty it depends on your state and the program. The best person to answer this would be your case worker. I know in Florida's IPN program we have to summit a interruption of monitoring and it has to be approved. I have never had a request denied. I also have no had to test while out of the state. Now in state I have been.

But again, I would speak with your case worker sooner than later.

Thank you. I don't have a case manager yet as I haven't settled with the Missouri BON but I'm hoping it won't be an issue.

I went on a business trip to a neighboring state and my number came up while I was there. I had to drive all the way across Kansas City to my designated testing location. I am sure the people I was working with wondered why I had to take a two hour lunch. :rolleyes: So, out of state testing definitely happened for me.

To FORTHELOVEOF, SouthernPoint is right, your Case Manager is the best one to ask about what your state's procedures are.

Good luck.

Well what I was hoping to know I guess was if my number comes up while I'm in Hawaii, can I just test there? I will ask once I settle with BON just curious if anyone had done it like that before.

Thanks

When I was testing I did not have too during vacation. I was however provided with several locations in that area in case I was chosen to test.

Thank you all do much! I'm no longer scared to book this vaca!

Also depends on who you are required to test with. Here in Virginia we test with a company that has testing locations in every state, therefore whenever you are selected to test you just go online and find a testing location close to you. Our testing service is called affinity. A word of caution, if your state also uses affinity make sure you check the price of the testing site before you sign up for it as the costs vary widely.

We use Affinity here in Florida also. We test with Lab Corp. Test cost about $42. a drop. We have to use CoC's if we have to go to a different lab or have to test out of state.

What is COC?

CoC = Chain of Custody

COC stands for "chain of custody". It's a form that you may have to take to the lab when you test. I've completed a 5-year monitoring program and never once had to use one.

I know someone who went to Hawaii while she was being monitored, and it was no problem. They have testing sites, and she had no problems. (I don't think she was selected to test while she was there.)
