ATTN TPAPN Nurses: Employment

Nurses Recovery

As a current TPAPN member who will hopefully graduate 09/2014 (yay!) I know how hard it is to find a job. Currently my employer, Austin State Supported Living Center, is very short of LVN's and RN's. They are even sponsoring Filipino nurses to come work here they are so desperate. We need 20 to 30 LVN's and/or RN's. The health insurance is fantastic and you get to work with a vulnurable, but overall sweet population of clients. At AUSSLC we have a very wide range of client needs: mild developmental disabilities to total care with tracheotomies. We need nurses of all backgrounds and abilities including those that could eventually become case managers or nurse managers. Please give AUSSLC a chance. They hired me when no one else would. If all you have against you is TPAPN participation, then apply online at http://www.dads.state.tx.us/employment/howtoapply.html or come by the campus and stop by the job center. They will give you a paper application or set you up at an application kiosk. Good Luck!

*If you have criminal charges or stipulations against your license, this may not be the place for you. A clean urine drug screen and criminal background check are required.*

So I am considering applying for a job, but I have a DWI in 2001 that was dismissed and a disorderly conduct in 1998 for which I was convicted. Will I automatically be excluded? I am a voluntary participant in TPAPN, newly registered RN with almost 7 years of sobriety....long story. Anyway any help you can provide is appreciated
