Yes, that is one varmit I don't even try to exterminate by myself! The house where he was living is the house where we were all rtaised when we were young, and the backyard is right up against the bayou. So, unfortunately, we used to have frequent unwanted visitors of that persuasion.

I was living in an older home before I got remarried, with hardwood floors. Wonderful until you hit the floors barefoot in the early am when it is 40 degrees.

it did not have central heat, but had space heaters, little gas ones and you had to light each one every time, bending down close to it with a little match. I had taken care of a man in his 40s that had gotten 2nd and 3rd degree burns not long before moving in and I was terrified of tring to light them.

I still had my doggie, Sam, when living there, and got by most of the time with an electric blanket and electric space heaters. No matches, just plug them in! So, one day my fiancee comes over, and the dog and I are sitting on the couch and he said it was so funnt, both of us sitting there, both exhaling little puffs of smoke! Had to be too funny when he saw it, like something out of a cartoon, like we were outside in 30 degree cold air... I guess like a couple of people sitting on a bark bench or something...

Grandee, glad to hear that Bubba has moved on. You don't find many gators in the suburb I live. I hear once you feed 'em, they aren't going anywhere far, but I'm new here. I only hear the stories from my husband who works in Luling.
Oh my gosh too close for comfort!

"bark bench", is that a bench for dogs?

arf arf

Sorry I couldn't resist pickin on ya lol...

Sounds alot like when we were growing up, the first person (of 8 of us) to take a shower in the am really had to suffer - big house, drafty, then after a fashion we had "silver walls and ceilings" - (dad got the insulation up but for the longest time did not put on the interior walls. Mom was always on him to finish!!)
