Please let Ike pass safely so the Cowboys - Eagles monday night game won't be a washout..... is my DH plea.

I've been to Galveston too - can't believe this is happening.
Here's a video of the Coast Guard rescuing 2 people from Ike:

We're still alive here on the north side at the beltway.

Power's out to everybody- we have internet via generator power. No AC-- the temperature inside the ICU is up to ~88 F.

We have some minor roof damage that triggered a fire alarm at 3:30 AM, and one side of our building's rooms are flooding from the wall.

Hard to see, but it appears many trees outside are uprooted. Luckilly the construction cranes and construction site appears to be undisturbed.

Had a really bad upper GI bleed last night and had to police escort in a GI doc while we rapid-infused in the ICU.

Blood bank is nearly out of blood, too.

I'm over on the far west side at home...We were on the clean side and missed most of the big rainbands that hit the greater Houston area. We were luckily to have power until about 430 or 5 am. Noticed a few downed fences in the neighborhood but our house seems to be OK. It sure is dang hot and humid in here already!!! They are saying no power for at least a few weeks....

Read all of your posts, praying for you all, especially for those caring for and being cared for in the hospital! Sounds very challenging!

Living NE Dallas area & the wind gusts are not too bad, just some branches coming off trees. It's raining; but, have seen worse with thunderstorms.

I understand that I'm at the outer west to northwest edge of this thing right now. It has got to be pretty bad for those in Eastern/NE Texas as I type, since they are on the Eastern side of it. Please stay safe and don't underestimate it since a tornado can pop up at any time.

Katy area (west side of Houston) and luckily we have power. We lost it for about 30 seconds last night. We did lose some of our fence and branches though.
