i might have M.S....

Hi all....Got my MRI results, and the neuro. wants to r/o M.S. or some other process !! ....It took every ounce of energy I could summon so as not to break down and weep... He sees multiple white plaques on the mri. Wants me to have a lumbar punture in his office. I asked him if I should start on some IV Aricept. He just laughed and thought i was kidding. I was not. I also have R.A.,Fibromyalgia and other things. I have been struggling with some memory difficulties, had a spontanous left foot drop that subsided on its own... Thank you, God.. Also, some balance issues, ringing ears, knees give out at times, irritability and this weird neurodermatitis that bleeds like crazy if I scratch it. I'm also kind of depressed already, as I was fired from my new "at will" job, after only 60 days. He said, "I wasn't working up to the job requirements". I have other theories. God,Are you there? it's kind of new to me .. I need to be strong for my beautiful 16 year old son,he knows nothing about the MRI or even that I saw the neuro.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Please consider seeing a MS specialist. If someone has positive MRI and symptoms of MS the LP may not be necessary for diagnosis. Its not something I'd be willing to go through if not absolutely necessary. Wishing you well.

Its been awhile since you posted so you probably know whether you have MS or not. Just know, if you do...its not the end of the world. I was diagnosed 13 years ago. Have been working full time since out of nursing school in a variety of different nursing avenues.
