Pacemaker learning

by castens

I'm wondering if anyone has a good, fairly succinct, learning packet about pacemakers - focusing on sensing/pacing problems. I'm looking for something that is more concentrated on permanent pacers, rather than TC or TV pacers.

I've noticed that quite a few of my new hires - even experienced critical care nurses - really aren't up to snuff when it comes to interpreting paced rhythms.

Anyone have something they're willing to share?

Thanks!

I have a chapter on Pacemakers that I use to teach Critical Care nurses with. It is probably not as exhaustive as you are looking for, but I wouldn't mind sharing.

I work in the operating room and the pacemaker rep from st. jude gave us and excellent inservice on pacemakers, particularly Biventricular AICDs. You might ask the rep in your facility to do something like that for you, often they go out of their way to provide good service for the hospital and staff.

Hi,

I would recommend you to try this website: https://wwwp.medtronic.com/mdtConnec...tion/index.jsp. I am sure you will find information about pacemakers that you are looking for. You have to register for free, then you will have access to all their education materials, from powerpoints to videos to photo albums and the good thing is the materials are all downloadable to your computer or any externl hard drive.

Thanks.
