ltc staff educator offer

I have been a RN for over 15 yrs. I have worked in hospitals, home health and management BUT not in LTC. Want to get out of hospital nursing, try something new. Have offer for staff educator in LTC facility. Also would be assisting the DON at times. I am more of a quiet person and question if I could do a good job as the educator in some place new and with no LTC experience. I enjoy working with people but am afraid in an area I have not worked. Am I over reacting or any advice would be helpful.

Every change is a little stressful. This may be your chance to make a difference in that facility, with that staff and that patient population. It may be a chance for you to learn how valuable your nursing experience has been and how it can be shared. Also, consider what a boost to your self-confidence when you realize you CAN do it! If you can work 15 years as an RN you can do almost anything, in my opinion!
