Clinical Ladder Requirements

by dbokrn

We have found it necessary to more clearly define the requirements for our clinical ladder program (ie: rather than just "community service" - we need to define what qualifies as community service). We have formed a committee to delineate each area's requirements and will be meeting soon. If anyone can share what their facility requires to achieve AND maintain clinical ladder status, it would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

In our facilty everything from years experience as a nurse, to years experience in your current job. We are required to have higher levels of education as you make your way up the ladder. Everything from BSN and higher, to specialty certifications (CCRN, CNRN, CEN, etc)
We also have additional requirements. We must submit a formal project that complements and/or enhances nursing today. (The subjects range from recruitment and retention, to bedside care).

Hope this helps.

Best of luck
