    Hi Duke09,

I did took the exam last 2011 and failed, I re applied that same year and got approve right away. I cannot advice you what's the best thing to do coz i know no better than all of you guys,, but my heart goes out to each and everyone of you whose experiencing this dilemma. However if I'm in your shoes i would contact BON and clarify what my deficiencies are when i do find out what it is I'll contact my school and ask them what exactly i need,, I wish i could have seen what documents my school forwarded to the BON when they did asked me to submit what I'm lacking so I can tell you what exactly you need to send. So I would take it from there, if it still don't work I would definitely take the LVN route and work all my way up to being an RN no matter what it takes.. Remember Don't give up its better to start at the bottom and reach the top than going the other way around. Don't lose Hope. Hope this helps. GODspeed!

    Hi steppybay,

i see what you mean but I'm doubting with what their basis really are whether from what school or year you graduated, clinical hours etc,,, in the issuance of eligibility,, and im heartbroken about this .. we have a lot of good potential individuals here that should be given a chance at least to sit on boards.

As you have mentioned the few 2 0r 3 you heard of who got lucky on the re- application, perhaps i could include myself in it?? lol since I am one of them. But somehow i don't agree on the "lucky ones" that you've said when it comes to application or documents and some sorts. Coz you know the u.s. they have rules to follow. they are firm and strict if you got it you got it if not then its not, No one is above it. However it could say taking the nclex exam perse can put you on luck or not so much , you might get the ones that you know or may have made the luckiest guesses on some q's.. I took my board back in september 2011 while pregnant on my first child and failed it, i never get the chance to really study by heart due to the complications i had during my pregnancy so i just went ahead and took it before my delivery... it was ok ... But I struggled on my physical discomfort at that time, sitting for 4 hours, contractions and a lot of stuffs, heartburn everything, awwe! it was so hard for me to sit still at that time. Anyways i re applied months after i give birth and got approved again for the second time but haven't taken it yet at this time. Don't lose hope everyone.
Yeaaa, congrats on your newborn!! May there be a few more in the future and all nice and healthy little ones!

Yes, you are truly one of the lucky ones, as you can read and see here, how many tried to re-apply only to get denied again after failing the NCLEX once or twice and then to get caught up in the concurrency or lacking hours or missing a course.

I hope so the next time we get some other good news from you is that you're a USRN in CA!

As you never know if you do have to re-apply again (hope NOT), it may be a different CA BON evaluator and then stuck, study hard and good luck!

    Hi,duke09

Just a lil clarification i looked back on my documents and found out that i did completed the submission of my application at january 2011. Here how it goes:
Mid october 2010 -submit application for the first time.
    A month of waiting...
November 2010- got the mail, not approved, bon asking for more documents.
November 2010- a week or so.. mailed the exact letter from bon to a relative overseas to be presented in my university... got a call back from my relative saying my university said it will take one month to be process and release...
    Waited..and waited..
Here comes december... waited again since its christmas break.. lotsa holiday,no school,no office.. finally after first week of january..
It was released and mailed to bon.
    Now waiting for bon letter...
And yay!i got approved two weeks after i think got it around last week of jan or first week of feb. So thats it. Thank you so much, though i havent pass the nclex i know im still blessed coz i got my lil one! You're doing the right thing, go for lvn if they'd give you a hard time on rn and take it from there it could be your stepping stones. Good luck to both of us!

Thanks zhapper2002! gud luck! Keep us posted... I was starting to check and browse about the requirements and steps in taking The LVN. Still got some question but ill try to do some research too. I really appreciate your help guys..
Its been a long time since I posted here. I passed my NCLEX-PN. I am now a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Next stop is, to get into LVN-RN program since I can't find any school offering just MS and OB courses. Though it may require a lot of work and a lot of money, there's no way out for BRN then to deny my application if I'll get my degree in a BRN-approved nursing school. How is it going @duke09?

Congrats on your LVN license. If you go thru the community college route or 2 year ADN program, the LVN license will save you the a semester. You will still have 1.5 years to go. Good luck.

Thank you. That's what I'm planning right now. To get into a community college and get a bridge program from LVN-RN though I'm thinking of going straight to the RN program. I don't know yet. Been processing my paper and the deadline for the RN program in the school I'm applying for is on the 31st of January. The pressure's here.
