    Hello Suzzanne
I have been reading your informative replies, they are really helpful. I have just graduated with a Masters in Health Services Administration from Strayer University in Virginia (June 2009) and i am currently studying for my LPN. When i finish and take the NCLEX-LPN exams, can i apply for visa screening too or how do i go about it? Do i have to do the RN program? i am 54 years old but that is not a problem for me. My real question is what do i need to do since i am already in the US to have a work permit or a green card?. I am a British citizen and my 5 year student visa runs out in 2011.

LPN will not meet requirements for a work visa or GC. Only RN plus you are affected by retrogression and looking at several years wait for a GC and you can not stay in the US and work whilst waiting. If you do your RN then as a new grad you will not qualify for a H1b visa as that is a specialist visa. LPN will not be recognised by the NMC so if you return back to the UK you will not be able to work as a EN as that training has not been available for over 10 years. Only RN is accepted by the NMC and something to be aware of as you may have to return back to the UK once you have completed your training

hi. i just would like to ask some questions.

i applied for cgfns CES before i got my philippine nursing license. now i'm planning to apply for cgfns VISASCREEN, do i need to request for validation of my philippine license to cgfns?

if so, will they charge me for that?

i recently passed the nclex and IELTS last january. will cgfns automatically be informed of my results?

Be aware that retrogression may still be in play when you qualify as a RN and may not be able to stay in the US and work.

To Silverdragon or anyone else that may help.

There are several different addresses listed for the IL Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Which address do I send the request for validation of registration?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I applied to CGFNS in March of 08 submitted all documentation, paid for a Visa Screen ( not knowing that the Visa Screen was too early to apply for BUT I paid the money and they took it...) then, once CGFNS finished with the professional application, they then forwarded it to the Florida Board of Nursing and then the FBON, gave me the application Number to sit for the NCLEX exam at Pearson Vue....once I wrote the exam and passed, the results sent to the FBON, "YOU" then have to pay an additional $25.00 for them to send the result of your NCLEX to CGFNS, who then process your Visa Screen. ( I did not know that I had to pay and extra fee for this process, so I waited another 2 months before I called Florida and CGFNS till I found out what happened.)
So CGFNS had my money for the Visa Screen for almost 1 year...
I wrote the NCLEX exam in Nov.08 and the Visa Screen was issued to me Feb 09

I hope you can understand the chain of events that happened, and now I am in the process of applying for a TN Visa to work in Florida

I have jumped through so many hoops, that I feel I am at my last straw

    Hope this helps you
    Sincerely
    C
