US State not requiring English test / SSN

World Registration

Published

Hello - I am a foreign nurse from India. I am looking for BON suggestion that accept CES report without requiring English proficiency test and SSN.

I took IELTS and scored 6 bands in speaking and 5.5 overall. I know it doesn't work for Visa Screen, so trying to find a work around if any.

Thanks.

If a visa screen certificate is required for immigration application (usually you are the principle applicant) then a English exam can not be avoided if English is not classed as your first language

Just know that many States do require a valid SSN, there are some that don't to take the exam and if you pass the NCLEX, great. Here's the problem: until you are able to provide that state's BON with a valid SSN will you then get the actual license and the license number.

Soon, all 50 states will require a valid SSN to apply and to renew, as it's a federal regulation, just some states are not enforcing it yet or started the implementation.

Also know that any US employer by law will require a SSN or some sort legal documentation that you are legally eligible to work in the States or that employer can face some very stiff penalties with possible financial fines for the illegal hiring.

Thanks Silverdragon. I will depend on my husband for my immigration. My classes (for bachelor study) were all in English language.

With that, can I avoid English test?

It depends on the state. Some states require an English test for all foreign education, even if the classes were taught in English. Other states do not require it if one can prove the classes were taught in English.

as post above but if you are not the principle applicant then you do not need a visa screen certificate unless the state requires it and not all do
