hi...Lynsimi... are you done with the NNAS assessment??? I actually did the LPN and RN assessment here in Alberta and now I just got a reply from CARNA.. giving me an option to do bridging or SEC assessment... I will choose SEC assessment and I am trying my best to start studying and yet I don't know what to focus on coz there are just lots of things to study... =(

Hi Camx, I am sailing in the same boat I guess. Carna is now going to assess my file and either ask me to do SEC or Bridging. But I always thought doing a bridging program would be better than giving the tedious SEC which I am completely new to. Can you tell me is it wiser to take SEC over bridging program ? If so why ?
    Thank you.

Hi Swap! I actually am booked for SEC assessment on October 5 and 6. I think that is so much better than having to do the whole bridging program. You can save time money and effort. I do have an idea though of the possible things that will come out for SeC. Just doing research and all those sort of things. Are you in alberta???

Really interested to hear of your experience of NNAS and the SEC assessments? Costs etc?
I am currently a UK resident, wanting to make the move to Canada. I will be a qualified RN in March.
I am desperate to apply but have to get 1 years experience and save up enough pennies

Canada requires generalist training so hopefully your transcripts show Obstetrics, Mental Health, Paeds and Adult both clinical and theory hours. Suggest starting the process as soon as you qualify as the NNAS and provincial process may take anywhere from 1 to 3 years

Are you aware that SEC assessments aren't only written exams? They also include OSCE - Objective Structured Clinical Exam along with interviews, role-playing and self-assessment. A complete assessment takes 5 full days.

There's an excellent video on the CRNBC web site that explains the whole process. https://www.crnbc.ca/Registration/RN...Pages/SEC.aspx

Hi! Any update on your SEC? How long will they issue the result after the 5days assessment? Thanks! Did you say you also applied for PN? Were you made eligible to sit in for the exam by the regulatory body?

Hi Everyone ! Nice to read everyone's reviews and experiences about SEC assessment. Still have few enquires about the SEC assessment. I'm scheduled for SEC assessment in Medical Surgical Nursing. I'm really confused where to start with an what the main things on which I should focus. I am aware of the criteria for the assessment. But could not figure out the sources for preparation. I would really appreciate if anybody can help!
