RN Denial letter, LVN and how I pass

I am a graduate from the Philippines (batch 2012). I received the denial letter from the BON. So I took the LVN exam. If you have the same situation as me and want to take the LVN exam, My advice is to make a new application for the BVNPT and do not ask for the transfer of document from BON because it will save you more time. it just took me 3 months to get my ATT.

When I got my ATT in May, I scheduled my exam for August. For someone like me who was out of school for 2 years, i need time to study.

Time frame of study: 3 months

My Reference:

- First I read the Kaplan strategies- it took me 3 days to finish it.

- I answer The Sauder's for PN book, I didnt read the content, I just answer the questions after each chapter and the practice questions.( if you lack content you will need to read the book)

- I attend a small class review in LA for 4 weekends.

- 3 weeks before my exam I purchased Exam cram- I used the CD first for 3 days and finished the 399 questions, Then I read the content and answer the chapter questions, cover to cover.

* I recommend: [h=1]Lippincott's NCLEX-PN Alternate Format Questions- This is for SATA questions, it is very helpful.[/h]

I worked fulltime during this time, I always put at least an hour of study after work, make sure that when you feel tired, rest for a while, eat , hydrate yourself and when you feel like your ready to study again take the chance whenever you get.

During the weekend I go to the library to study. I study maximum of 3 hours if I can.

I took my test in Pasadena on August 15. 3 weeks after I got my official letter that i have Passed.

Hi there ! Congrats did u use sunders 4 th edition or 5 th ? Also like to know between 4.&5 edition there are a lot different on the questions or pretty much the asme ? Thanks

Hello Armine, I used the 5th edition, all the books that I use, most of them I borrow from the library. I cannot answer you about the difference cause I only use the 5th edition. It is the red cover for PN.

Thank you for your respond I have newborn and I want to pass as soon as possible . I am using sunders 5 th edition coz I heard the best nclex book . Good luck to you !!!

Hi may I ask if the bvnpt sent u the declaration papers? If yes may I know how long u received it after u submitted your application? Thanks a lot.

it depends on how long your school will send the Transcripts, I submitted my application December and got the yellow paper in march then send it immediately after a month i got my ATT

I submitted all the documents together with my application. Does it make a difference in faster processing?

Transcripts should be sent by school.
