You are not applying for NCLEX but to be a registered nurse in the US, NCLEX is just a part of the process. Be aware that currently CA are denying a lot of International trained nurses especially from the Philippines in regards to cases not being current with theory and clinical hours. I suggest a good read in this forum as there are several threads discussing this

Hello guys I'm just wondering what happened to BSN grads this 2012? Does anybody here applied US citizen, immigrant or Filipino "foreign Grad" that experience the same problems as others had due to concurrency issue? Just wondering because the CHED changed the BSN curriculum since 2011 last year. Before when you reach your 3rd year in the nursing program that's the only time you work /study or do ur hours in the hospital (duty) wit your CI's, up until your 4th yr.,,til Lou graduate. Now the new curriculum I am in next year on my 2nd year we already have to do our hours in the hospital.Does this mean the new curriculum may pass the US standards due to concurrency issue?I am scared too because I am just in my 1st year and stil leave 3 more yrs to graduate. Just scared and thinking of moving back to US because of this issue. Please help...Any 2011 - 2012 grad did you have a hard time or any successful result?Thanks... I just can't send a private message to anyone for now since I am new in this site...We should make our own group on Facebook I'm sure a lot of grads or BSB students can support us over there. Jut pls post your email so I can add you up on Facebook too. Thanks and let's try to help each other rather than ******** about everything... Let's not lose hope guys!!! Foreign students/grads or locals we can get thru this!!!Have a bless day!!!

There's been a few 2012 Phils grads and didn't get approved in CA, one recently was a poster named "hjreid". He was just denied due to the OB and MS courses.

So you see, I'm not sure the CHED still knows what's going on with regards to meet the CA minimum requirements. I've seen posters here say they did adjust the curriculums but nothing seen yet. So I'm not sure if CHED corrected the concurrency issue by short-changing the OB / MS side.

Really, now that we all know the CHED dropped the ball on all of us, it's up to us to make sure or at least you newer students that the CHED has the correct and proper requirements.

I would defnitely put the pressure on the CHED, PRC and PNA as a whole group to make sure it happens for you guys! Start a FB and let the agencies know that that you guys know the game plan now and make the 3 agencies own up to it!

If not, then really, you guys can NOT blame the CHED, PRC and PNA, you're just following the blind with the blinds.

However, you may get lucky in your courses, but as time ticks away, those new courses better be more than 101% correct or it will be waste of time and money as so many of us PH grads are feeling the frustration and disappointments.

CA BON and the rest of the country I'm sure are keeping a very close eye on those with PH transcripts, but part of that has to do with the greedy PH low-lifes, both guys and gals, that have cheated their way into the BON's system by submitting RECTO false and altered documents.

Since the subject title is NCLEX preparation and requirements, it's very known FACT that less than 50% of PH grads passed the local nursing exam (article was from the CHED themselves and posted here) and much less the actual USA NCLEX-RN testing passing rate.

Get the CHED, PRC and PNA to get real qualifed nursing instructors (talking about 5 years of on the job nursing experience or more) AND reduce the teacher (preceptor as known in the States) ratio from 10-25 per preceptor to 1-3 students per instructor in a real hospital setting, not a lay over clinic.

One of the main reasons so many PH grads are failing the NCLEX the first time and sometimes up to 3-4 times, is that the PH system does NOT teach what other US students gets, a chance to use the nursing critical thinking skills. That's why the US students have such very high NCLEX passing rates, up to 85% and many in the 90's. Many of the USA nursing grads take the NCLEX the moment they graduate from school, usually within 1-2 months, while it's still very fresh and again pass in the high 80's to high 90%'s.

People, we're talking about the "critical thinking" process taught to the US and most do not need to take a refresher course or buy a bunch of books, CD's, pay for costly NCLEX review courses/classes. They are taught thru their schools on how to pass the NCLEX with every class and course taken from day one to getting their diploma with real life experiences.

I recently have made new US educated friends and they can see why PH students are failing so high, it's one thing to take a temperture and read and find a pulse, but it's more than just that. It's theie one-on-one "joined at the hips" from the time they hook up with their nursing preceptor (or mentor), they literally stick together except for meals, breaks and restroom break, that's it. Otherwise, it is required they "shadow" the experienced nurse to see what she really does, to see the charting, to see and talk to each patient one on one, not 20 students clamoring over the poor patient.

That's why the USA has a long waiting list, they purposely restrict the student population as there's only so many experienced nurses and hospitals that allow this to happen, so that the new student nurse gets better and fuller immersion. Unlike in the Phils, where they pack them in like cattle going to the farm.

But I understand that they finally are closing down many schools in PHils, not only because of the lack of money, but there's no more nursing shortage in the USA, not with some 43,863 new US nursing graduating yearly nationwide. They said the "demand" for PH nurses may come in 2020, but I think one needs to add on another 5-10 years to that, with the status of projected USA new nurses coming into play or the worst case, there will be no need to bring in foreign nurses at all.

It seems like the next wave of possible foreign nurses may come from China and India due to the newer immigration laws and reducing the PH status way down. I don't recall the new bills being passed or being considered other than it didn't look good for any PH nurses soon. It has to due partly I think with "balancing" out the foreign make-up and both China and India have much stronger lobbies and money to get their own nationals in than the Phils.

You are permitted to list the name of the group, but links to Facebook pages are not permitted per terms of service. Some links cannot be edited to leave the name of the group, depending on how they are pasted in the post.

(Unless of course, the group is not permitted per terms of service such as "How to cheat the Canadian government and sneak millions of dollars in counterfeit maple syrup to the Andes mountains to make extra money on the side" with the purpose of creating an illegal maple syrup smuggling ring... those posts would obviously be removed as we cannot condone illegal activity)

Hello Nurses! I just like to ask where is cheaper and easier to take the NCLEX? Philippines or USA? Please advice. Thank you!

Also, what are the advantages of taking NCLEX in the Philippines or in the USA?

The exam is a national exam therefore doesn't matter where you take it, all the questions come from the same pot. If taken outside the US you have to pay an extra fee to pearsonvue otherwise no advantage whether taken inside the US or in the Philippines
