Good Day everyone! Congratulations to you guys who got your respective LOE's. Your long wait is almost over and now closer to your dreams :) I have been reading your posts here for almost a week now, as I am planning to lodge my application to APHRA. To guide me on filling up the AGOS 40 and on gathering the required documents, I prepared some important notes. If it is not too much to ask I hope you guys would correct me if my understanding of the guidelines is not right. This will not be beneficial for me alone but also for other applicants who would do the application by themselves. I would greatly appreciate your feedbacks! May God bless us always! Thank you in advance ;)!

Category D- none

Section E- Qualifications for the professions (I am quite confuse with this section. Does it mean my College qualification?

Question 12. I have to attach my updated CV.

The statement of service asked here is same with our COE?

Also should it be notarized in the city where my previous employer is located?

*My dilemma is that my last employer is the Ministry of Health in Libya; it will be very impossible to get in touch with them due to the current situation there. You guys have any idea on how to explain this to APHRA? I'm thinking of the Libyan embassy or yet my employment agency before could help me.

AGOS 40

Section C- Proof of Identity

Category A- I don't have any proof from the choices, is it okay to attach a postal ID or NSO BC?

Category B- Philippine passport (no Australian visa)

Category C- Registration Certificate from PRC

Category D- none

>> I'm not sure. I applied on-shore so I had documents to satisfy these criteria. Best ask someone who applied from PH as well.

Section E- Qualifications for the professions (I am quite confuse with this section. Does it mean my College qualification?

Question 9. Title of Qualification – Is it Registered Nurse?

>> Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Name of Institution- is it my school?

>> Yup

*Is this the part I will attach my Certified true copy of: Diploma,TOR,course outline, RLE hours, pharmacology certification (To meet the IQNM Criteria 1)

>> Yup. Include them all in your application packet.

*Should I include my Certificate in Midwifery as part of my qualification since I attended a ladderized program of Nursing?

> I don't know. However when you say laddered I would read into it as you did your midwifery and upgraded later into full nursing. I would say yes then, just put it all in along with the AGOS-40 application.

Section F- Registration History

Question 11. State: Philippines

Period of Registration is the one found in my license?

*I will ask PRC to send a certificate of good standing directly to APHRA. Can I do these after sending the AGOS 40 form?

>> Ideally as all IQNM applications are instructed to be sent to NSW, having your base application in first would make it easier for them although I wouldn't wait for too long to request PRC to process it for you. I cannot recall what I'd put in the period of registration.

*Should I include my Midwifery Registration even if I am applying as Registered Nurse only?

>> It wouldn't hurt I suppose... after all you used a laddered program to eventually attain nursing.

Section G- Work History

Question 12. I have to attach my updated CV.

The statement of service asked here is same with our COE?

>> Yes. Although they require to be specific -- your employment terms must be in Australian terms. My experience with nursing is that we go through several stages. For exampe: You start off as a floater or nurse I stage where you function as on-call. Hence, you are considered as a casual staff for Australians. The certificate of service would then need to indicate how many hours have you worked during this stage and what date you last rendered service within this status. You then progress as a probationary staff which translates as permanent full time in Australian terms.

Example:

Philippine terms:

Jan 1 1998 to June 2 1998 Staff Nurse I / Floater

June 3 1998 to December 2 1998 Probationary Staff Nurse

December 3 1998 to present Regular Staff Nurse

Australian Terms:

Jan 1 1998 to June 2 1998 Casual Staff Nurse (3500 hours)

June 3 1998 to December 2 1998 Full-time Staff Nurse (Probationary)

December 3 1998 to present Full-time Staff Nurse (Regular)

Also should it be notarized in the city where my previous employer is located?

*My dilemma is that my last employer is the Ministry of Health in Libya; it will be very impossible to get in touch with them due to the current situation there. You guys have any idea on how to explain this to APHRA? I'm thinking of the Libyan embassy or yet my employment agency before could help me.

>> I honestly do not know. Perhaps I'm not the best person to give advice on this matter. I suppose you can make an appeal if they ask for clarification and no, the notarization is just to ensure that your original document has been sighted and that the copy is true and free from manipulations.

Section H: Suitability statements

Question 15. Professional Indemnity Insurance- shall I tick No?

Question 17. Which of the four option shall I tick?

>> I don't have the form sorry.

Additional documents to gather are to meet the IQNM Criteria:

Criteria 1- Certified True Copy of: Diploma,TOR,course outline, RLE hours, pharmacology certification

*Please enlighten me if what is the evidence that the qualification leads to registration in the country?

>> Criteria 1: Diploma, TOR, course outline (descriptive text of all the subjects you took), and RLE hours.

Criteria 2- I have to show the template to my school and let them fill up the form downloaded in the APHRA page. Do I still have to ask them a copy of accreditation certificate or its just the template provided by APHRA?

Criteria 3-I have to show the template to CHED and let them fill up the form from APHRA and ask them to send it directly to APHRA.

>> I do not think new applicants from the PH still need these.

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Accreditation FAQ for internationally qualified nurses and midwives

see Question 6 from the above link

Criteria 4- We are AQF 7 right? Yet we are still advised to take the BP

>> Yes.

Criteria 5- Is this the detailed RLE hours to be attached with the AGOS 40 Section E, Question 9

Criteria 6- Certified true copy of course outline

Criteria 7- Certified True copy of TOR

>> yes these should be enough.

Criteria 8- Certified True copy of Pharmacology Certification

*Can anybody please show me how your certification looks like so that I will have an idea on how it looks like?

>> Nope. Nobody has seen it I suppose.

Certification from your education institution, provided directly to AHPRA, that you successfully completed your course of study which covered medication management including drug calculation, pharmacokinetics(the study of the bodily absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs and pharmacodynamics (the study of the biochemical and physiological effects of drugs and the mechanisms of their action in the body).

Regarding the English Proficiency Test- i wasn't able to get all 7 on IELTS AC last December and am considering OET even if it's expensive. What's your thought between IELTS and OET? :)

>> In my opinion OET was easier and more straight forward. However, be careful with Reading as it is by far very challenging. Many fail the writing part as well simply by writing immediately without looking who was the letter intended for.

Cheers!
