Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

World Registration

Published

Hi chelseaxyrene.. do you know if your friend that took the ARNTP had all his / her docs notarized here in the Phils to be submitted to AHPRA? Or were the docs notarized in AUstralia since the application for AHPRA registration was submitted there? Thank you...

Hello councilor28... I am also for the ARNTP October 2013 intake just like your gf.. I have received my COE, but had to renew my passport so I am still waiting for it prior to VISA application.. I am to travel with my husband as well, but we have no child yet. He's also a nurse but we wouldn't take the course at the same time for it would cost us a lot... and he's still about to take his IELTS. When he has completed all the requirements, he would aim for the April 2014 ARNTP intake. I hope we couples could help each other out :)

I was also advised to apply for AHPRA registration while the course is ongoing, but still having hesitations as to whether submit my docs to AHPRA as early as now, or do it in Australia..have you gathered enough info on this? If we are to do it in Australia, do we need to have all our docs certified here or would they only accept Australian certified copies since the application will be lodged there? Thanks.

My mother and her partner by the way are residents of Tasmania that's why she pushed and pushed me to pursue my profession there...I know it wouldn't be easy.. nothing in this life is anyway ;) But I believe good things happen to good people.. So let's stay optimistic :) :)

Hello "rv_phen and councilor28. Im also planning to take arntp at unisa. I will lodge my application to them thru idp. I think we share the same dilema on registering to aphra first before the course starts but my agent told me that it is no longer necessary. However, I have this theory in my mind that if I lodge my application to aphra before the program commence, it will hasten my registration sooner. If you have any feedback regarding this kindly pm me. at [email protected]. Thank you so much in advance. I hope we can share ideas and facts about this matter. Thank you once again.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)/BUPA Australia

Thanks. did you get BUPA? how much is the monthly for BUPA? I checked their website and it's around 38.89AUD the cheapest it's short term education cover (something like that). Is that the one?

There are other OSHC providers. Here: http://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au/en/Study-Costs/OSHC/Overseas-student-health-cover

The university has an arrangement with BUPA Australia and this is why OSHC fee was included on top of the tuition fee; it is indicated on the Confirmation of Enrolment. IMHO, while it is convenient for us that the university takes care of this process, the advantage for you is that you have control of which package you're going to take. Perhaps it's gonna be cheaper that way? Let's wait for the feedback of other members.

Meanwhile, there was a post somewhere here of a student who is currently taking his BP at IHNA who also availed of BUPA's health insurance.

A couple of students recommend BUPA. Here: link.

Hi I got an offer letter for arntp at unisa for october intake. However I am hesitant to pursue with arntp because student visa only has 1 month extension after the program. Not like the non cricos course where in subclass 600 visa you may be able to have 3 months stay and multiple entry for a year. Anyone here done with arntp? Are my assumptions right? What are the advantages of arntp in unisa? I hope you can help me

which schools are cricos and which ones are not?
