Oh my! I think they are the one who could really answer. The best thing to do is still to ask for an extension and express the reason for the delay, but the school also told me that if ahpra will not grant my extension they will squueze for an earlier slot if someone backs out from an intake.
Yes better to ask your case officer to have first hand information. I've read a lot of complaints regarding asking for an extension in VIC. Other states do give extension like NSW, Queensland and WA.

And, the case officer who had been contacting me for the first few weeks was a "he"...and the one who gave me the bridging letter is a different person - a woman this time. hmmm?

Just make a web enquiry and include the reference number that they gave you before so you will be contacted by your registration officer. I only have one person contacting me since the start of my application. My first emails have that format but when I was given the LOE, the format included her email address.

Go back to your LOE, there's something in the lower part of the letter 'pls dont hesitate to contact ___ ' That's your officer

Is it true that it is difficult to find a job in Australia especially after your registration? I am planning to pursue my plans going to Australia particularly in Sydney because my friend who wants to help me lives there. I have a 3 yrs working experience in a hospital. 1yr in ER and 2yrs in OR and DR complex. Do you think thats enough experience to qualify for a job?

Jobs are available, but to get a sponsorship is the one that's hard. That's according to several people I've known who has done the bridging and is now working in Australia.

So jobs are no problem? It is only the sponsorship that makes it difficult to stay in Australia? What if I applied for a student permit? Because I know one immigration agency that is offering a student visa for those who will study brdging course. Do you think that would be better compare to short stay visa?

This is based on feed backs I got from friends who are now working in Australia. I really don't have first hand experience about finding a job and sponsorship there because I am still on the process of getting my visa It depends on you. But getting a student visa would cost more because of the tuition fee, the duration, and of course your expenses. But, you can work part time Have you started your application? Most people from this forum are doing the bridging program.

Actually not yet! I failed to get 7.0 in all categories in IELTS last january 2013 here in Norway. But I will go back in the Philippines this coming April and start my review in 9.0 Niner because I was once a student there. My plan date to re-take ieslts is on May 25. I hope this time I will be able to score 7.0 or higher in all areas. I couldnt believe that examiners here in Norway have higher standards compared in Phil. I don't know but they give low grades.

Has anyone received an update from AHPRA that goes like this,Your application for registered nurse has been assessed and at this stage everything you have provided to support this application has been assessed as correct for the purposes of assessment. However, due to your qualification equivalency, your application needs to be sent to the registration committee of the Victorian Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia for approval. Your application will be presented to the board in March 2013 (Contingent on if all board members are present), Once at outcome has been reached you will be informed in writing in due course.-i already inquired ahpra about it and they said it's the standard procedure for overseas nurses.

Some applicants from the Phillipines have reported this. It seems to go either way, yes you are given eligibility or no you don't and can appeal.
All that have appealed and reported here have been given eligibility, NMBA it seems, going off reports here, tends to accept anyone that can claim Registered Nurse in own country eventually and no one has reported that they have been refused and refused appeal to be an applicant as Registered Nurse from any country with any nursing degree and that goes for 2, 3 or 4 year claimed ""degrees" from home country.
