2 years experience is actually a good start. most agencies require at least 2-3 years experience. if you need 5 more points (meaning you scored 55 at the current point-test), then you can apply to a state so they can sponsor you. State sponsorship will give you 5 points. But anyway, that's still quite a long journey for you. You still need your AHPRA registration, then ANMAC skills assessment, before you can apply for that.

How long would that take, iamnomad, I'll be finishing the bp this August and Ielts will expire june 2014. Hope, I can still make it if ever I'll take the road of applying the SC 189....

well, this is based on the current processing times (whether actual or standard).

ANMAC skills assessment is 6-12 weeks.
Expression of Interest (EOI) may take up to 1 month before you get your invitation for PR
Then grant of PR is 6 months (per experiences I read on different discussion sites). But according to DIAC website, subclass 189 is processed within 12 months. So if others are saying that they just waited 6 months, then DIAC must be processing at a faster rate than its usual.

If applying under subclass 190 - State Sponsorship (for NSW) is 12 weeks.

Gee! SC 190 is fast! Do you have additional points when yo are registered in AHPRA already or you'll be only eligible to apply for SC 190 or SC189...

we are actually off-topic. lol. sorry mods.

the 12-week processing time is just the state sponsorship, not the subclass 190 application. that's two separate application. so after state sponsorship, you have to apply for subclass 190 via same SkillSelect EOI. But subclass 190 is on higher priority so it is a bit faster than 189.

if you are AHPRA-registered, the only advantage you have when it comes to immigration requirement, is you only have to do a "modified" assessment for ANMAC skills assessment. If you're not AHPRA-registered, then its a "full" assessment.

hi! when you called ihna office, did they send you your offer letter right away? I am still waiting for mine. It was forwarded to the "concerned department" last Feb.11. Maybe I'll call them if I haven't received any notice this week. Thanks.
