One possibility, no jobs and they are not getting their money paid back. The whole health system is in disarray! All publics hospitals have been told they are being cut a couple of million each adn asking staff to cut down hours, unions are meeting due to the massive hospital cutbacks as we speak in Victoria.

They are closing beds (the hospitals) and cancelling elective surgery or making the wait list longer, there is a hiring freeze in place.

and aged care has not missed out, they are putting health assistants in RN places.

All this, and a few hundred new graduates without work.

hi guys,

i am new here and this would be my first post, as far as i can tell everyone is nice and always willing to help out which is great...

as weird as it may sound but im doing this in behalf of my gf, shes the nurse and i am an elected government official.. i am here, because we decided that we wanted to try living in australia for a better life.. the thing is, political violence in our town has come to a point that so many lives has been lost due to greed in power.. it is so heart breaking to think of all of our friends' families who lost a loved one due to the greed and selfishness of the few. this is not the life that i dreamt of for my little one, this is not the way i want us to live our life.. thats why we came to this decision. my gf and i are both young, shes a nurse with masters degree and 3+ years of experience, im hoping that through the help of those kind hearted knowledgables here that we can come up with the best decision for our life.. i hope you guys can help me with a couple of questions, and i think itl be helpful too for the others who wants to know, here goes..

1. what are the main diffrences of arntp to bridging programs? i know someone had answered this but maybe someone can go into further details also based on their own experience, the whole cost including the living expenses? duration? better school location? and in your opinion the best program to go to and school to go to?

2. what is the step by step process from the start to getting employed, i tried broswing but the ahpras, and department and schools abbreviation has been really confusing! i know some might have already answered this so feel free to give the link..

3. what is aaon about?

4. do they allow a dependent common law partner to go along with the program student? i was able to talk to a unisa rep when they were here in makati and they said yes.. but had someone that did a program and was able to bring a partner?

my gf has masters degree, she hasnt took yet the ielts but i think she will have no problem getting 7s, i am still incumbent until june 2013 so intake time will also be a consideration but i wana go as soon as i finish my term,

i have just lost my dad recently to heart failure and it was a long ardous expensive battle that basically had left me broke, we are not rich, this decision might be the most important that we have to make, and i got only one shot at this because i dont even have yet the money for this, but i have to make this happen for my child and my family.. this is not only for the sake of earning a living.. but this is about giving my child a life he deserves and be away from this all.. and for my mom who im sure will no longer be able to take it if something happens to me.. this is our life so i will forever be grateful for the help! thank you very much!

If you want a sure and safe one. Follow ceridwyn's thoughts, don't go to Australia. If you opted to brave the threaded waters and face the mountain, go and download the AHPRA form for nurses AGOS 40. It will all start from there.

Everything has ups and downs.

The in thing to earn money as a nurse right now is to go to middle east. The places that would offer more salary would be Dubai or Abu Dhabi. They offer family visa. Just let your wife attend job interviews for those places. Or better yet, let her take the HAAD exam then attend job interviews. Be warned, the exam is somewhat hard? easy? by chance of luck? Any of those. But once you get passed that and you have your employer, you're in a good place.

Yes, middle east isn't exactly an immigrants haven. Middle east isn't exactly where you would picture your grandchildren running around at, but it's where nursing is in very in demand.

While for Australia, as Ceridwyn says, they are now getting surplus of nurses. So employment opportunities would be just by blessing of God. If God is directing you to Australia, that's the only time you should gamble your fate there.

So If I am in your position, read the forum from pages 150 maybe, then till now. I think by page 170 to 180...you'll have your answer.

To summarize what you would read from the past pages, in attempting to go to Australia, you would need around 2 million pesos to spend/invest on this venture, have around 1 to 1.5 years to spend your time to become a registered Australian nurse and Pray very hard to get a job.

God bless us all and May each of us find the road which we must thread on.

Merry Christmas!

Hi,

I am an american Registered Nurse that has just applied for my work and holiday visa to travel to australia for nursing work. I wasnt quit sure about the nursing registration but I clearly see that is something I must do. I have so many questions though regarding the journey through the application process, I am aware that it is very extensive. The following questions are:

1. I have an associates degree in the US and I have been a nurse for over a year now. Is it the AGOS 40 form that I want to submitt?

2. Does anyone recommend going through an agent/migrant officer to get this form filled out? if so, how do I find an agent? I live in California and I have been trying to google agents without success.

3. Can anyone provide me an example of their CV format?

4. I am registered in 3 states, do I need to include that on my AGOS 40 form? if so, will they accept a printed out copy of the registration? I dont know if the state boards will be able to submit something written. I can always ask.

5. Does the CV truely need to be signed by you and your employer? or is it just the State of Service that is required to have the signature of your employer?

6. It has occured to me of talk about this briding program. The AHPRA determines if you need to be in a bridge course to practice as a nurse in australia?

7. Can the AGOS40 form be submitted at anytime? i see on the last page is says "The registration period for the nursing and midwifery profession is 1 june to 31 may". What does this mean exactly?

Im sure there are more questions but these were the immediate ones that came to mind. Someone please help.

I can be emailed at:[email protected]

Cheers.

Why was AG Finance unable to give you the loan??

They said they still need to generate the needed amount, and last october, they dont have the said amount yet. They said there was a sudden surge of applicants for Australia thats why they had a shortage of funds.

To Councilor28,pls.invest more time surfing through the net and reading to get the over all picture of your plan. You can find almost all the answers to your questions including abbreviation,ARNTP,AAON;living cost in Aussie, how a nurse can apply to be registered there, immigration concerns,etc.Pls.google all queries you have in mind, presto, all info will pop up in just a wink of an eye. Moreover, you'll be directed to links and webs related to the topic you need.Aside from that,by reading these threads you can get first hand info from members with real experiences about what they have gone through while applying to Aussie.Personally,I read more than a thousand pages of the old threads for a couple of weeks before I was able to have a crystal clear view of the whole process.Goodluck.......About our country,it takes a politician to understand a politician. However,it is not easy to manage people with different mentality.I,as a desperate Filipino citizen would rather focus on improving myself.I know somehow we are affected by their decisions and actions but time is so much valuable to waste for people who do not deserve it.
