    Even if there was no concurrency problem, in CA, they require proof of the local PH license. Unless you get a waiver from the PRC or another form of documentation to show that you're a US citizen or have dual citizenship that you could not take the local exam due to your citizenship status.

    However, I do know that one with a USC or dual and easily take the local exam but simply not filling out that section of the form and still gets you to take the exam. I have several friends who had done so without any problems at all.

    I always advised to do so if they plan to ever come back to the State (with about a 99% chance they do), as it will look better to a potential US hospital employer to show you have the local nursing license.

    This will give them the better edge if a hospital was to hire two foreign grads, one who's resume shows they passed and possess the local license versus someone without it. Jobs are so competitive that every little bit of information helps to push their application closer to possible hire and ins't this partly what it's all about.

    thanks for the advice..but then i dont have enough time to take since then i have my visa already and need to be here before expiration that is why i was not able to take NLE back home.

    we're on the same boat..

    uhmm. you dont have to be licensed in the philippines in order to apply for the NY state.
    i just applied last july.. because my application here in Cali was denied.

    my cousin just received her ATT for the NY state.. without having a local license in the Phil..

    thank you so much !!! i just have to be sure to save money... i was just thinking about NY because we are moving nextyear and not good for cali ..i just leave my application then to cali bon no plan to continue it..i will add you really in fb..thanks a lot !!! i was so disappointed to cali bon ...ok i'll just mesage you to facebook..
