Hello everyone!

I wanted to hear the stories of international grads who had the success of getting their ATT from different states.

We know that some states are not as open as other states with international graduates. Mostly due to lack of hours, theories and cases issues.

If there are international graduates who have had the success in acquiring an ATT and taking the exam please share your story. I believe that a majority of us need a shed of light and regain some hope.

I might apply at Michigan or New York because we have family there. My aunts and uncles are in Hawaii as well so i'll keep this as an option. It would be difficult to move to a state if you don't know anyone. Specially when applying a job. It's not about "what you know" these days but it's about "who you know" connections.
That's good that you have options. I know everything now is about connections and eventually we will all get a job we just have to be able to sit for nclex first and worry about job hunting later.

Hi! I came across this thread and I find it very helpful. Been frustrated for the past months because I've applied for CGFNS CES report and up until now, my school haven't receive yet the document from CGFNS, so they can't start processing my transcript. I'm an US immigrant since 2007 and I just came back to Philippines to finish nursing. I'm a graduate last April. I didn't take the NLE last July. I went here immediately in NY. @Diel08, does CGFNS in Hawaii, let's your school process your transcript without waiting for any documents from them? Because that's the problem in my application in NY right now. If your applying for CGFNS for NY state CES report, the school can't start processing your transcript without receiving the documents from them. I think it's different from other states, right? It's not simply downloading and filling up the forms and your school can start processing ur transcript. This thing makes delay to my application. :confused:

I read your dilemma. I think you have a big problem right now since you're saying that you ordered a CGFNS "CES" for NEW YORK. I'm afraid to tell you that New York has their own evaluation process which is CGFNS "CVS" not "CES". Please double check your order and make sure it is CVS. You may have ordered the different one. here is a link with states that accept certain CGFNS orders. CGFNS International

I don't follow your second question. But i'll try to explain what must be done in order for a state to process your papers. For the CVS, i believe, CGFNS will process the papers for you. So you won't need to send a request form to the school. CGFNS may do it for you. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. The school will then receive the request forms of your transcripts diploma, license etc. Once the school completes those requests then they will send them to CGFNS. CGFNS will then evaluate your papers. Evaluation will then be sent to New York. New York will check your papers and evaluation from CGFNS if you are qualified to sit for the NCLEX.

My main concern for you now is your order of CGFNS in New York. I know that New York accepts CVS and not CES. But if there are any correcions please do inform as well.

Oh! My mistake. Yeah, I should be CVS and not CES. Whew! I've checked it and I ordered the right one. And you got it right. The CGFNS will send the request form to my school. That's my dilemma now since it's more than 2 months from the time that CGFNS sent the request form to my school and up until now, my school haven't receive anything yet. Is that usual? I mean to wait for a document to be received for more than 2 months in a regular mail?

I'm having second thought right now like what if while waiting for my CVS for NY, I might as well apply to New Mexico or Hawaii. Any advice? Thank you

Hi Mafmazon! Yup it is really different for every state. I didn't know that it was Cgfns processing for NY is very different maybe that is why they have a separate process for NY. Anyways for other states we could download the forms such as request for transcript and license validation (if you have a local license) in cgfns website and you yourself can send it to your school and then they will be then sending it to cgfns once you're school filled out everything that needs to be filled out. Once Cgfns receives the documents it may take them a month or so to issue a ces report for you. Hope this helps!

Not to discourage you or anything but I heard from a friend of mine who apllied in NY that it really takes a year before you can get your eligibility. That includes the processing for your CVS. My friend really waited he applied last year and finally he is sitting for nclex this month.

Yup think most states have the same process if the states you are seeking to apply wants CES.

Is this the same thing you did when you applied for Hawaii?

You have plans in staying in Hawaii or once you have the license you'll apply for reciprocity or endorsement? And is it alright to have more than one application in CGFNS for different states?

Yup you can surely do that I swear itIs really fast in hawaii. Although it will take you a month or so to process your CES report (you know to get all the papers done) but once you have a ces report and apply in hawaii evrything will be a breeze.

:( I know and I can't help not to be frustrated for the past months. Is it alright if I might as well apply for Hawaii?
