yes, i'm aware of that.. but my employer sponsored the sister of my brother-in-law about a year ago, who is a BSN graduate in the phils. with no experience, only a license in the phils. She went here only with a tourist visa, did the CVS process, passed the nclex and is now working at a hospital. I don't know yet how exactly she did it, i will talk to her about it soon and i hope that would happen to me also. if that doesn't work for me then i'm willing to go through the long process. i want everything to be legit. thank you.

Please refer also to this thread especially response #11 (Suzzane4). You might get better insight regarding your case. But take note this was on 2007.

do you have SSN already? I already have my eligibility from CALI BRN after 2 weeks, after i sent them all my additional requirements that they asked from me. I didn't take NLE in Ph. I didn't take ielts, toefl also.

Just go california bRN site and the step by step guide is there.

hi there just wanna ask if they required you also bunch of paper works like clinical rotational plan and enrollment forms from years you spend studying nursing?

looking forward for your reply.. thanks :)

hey, i got the same sitch as you. im here in cali right now. what school did you graduate from? does the school provide those bunch of paper works like clinical rotational plan and enrollment forms from years you spend studying nursing.

cause i dont have them. :( im afraid im gonna have to go back to the philippines just to accomplish that. :(

hi id like to ask what school you graduated from? does the college provide the enrollment forms and class schedules? plus the log book for the clinical rotations?

im here in california and ive passed my application and they asked me to submit that. im afraid i no longer have the copies of my class schedules and enrollment forms and the clinical rotation dates plus CI signatures. :( how were you able to accomplish that? it would be a very big help if you could answer me. thank you

Only way to see if you are eligibile is apply to NY and see what happens.

As someone who trained outside the US you have to go through CVS with NY and the process can take up to 6-8 months before eligibility to sit NCLEX Suggest you read the NY state BON and CGFNS websites

NYBON does not require licensure in your home country. BUT your problem would be your non-immigrant status as you need to provide your Social Security Number in your application/s. And you wont be able to have one unless you're lawfully allowed to work in the US by having either a working permit, a green card or US citizen status. The way for you to be able to take NCLEX is to take it in the Philippines. You can't apply to take it in New York. Also, you must also take the CGFNS exam to obtain a Visa-Screen certificate used in US Visa application.

Some states and I know NY used to be one of them would accept application without a US SSN but wouldn't necessarily issue a license without it. Also for visa screen certificate you need a pass in either CGFNS exam or NCLEX not just CGFNS exam

Just checked the NY application forum and it doesn't state that US SSN is a must but to leave blank if you do not have one

I think initially, they allow you to leave the SSN number blank then you have follow up qs on why the area is left blank. You can choose the answer- "choose not to provide SSN" or "Dont have SSN" and if you choose the latter, you have to explain why you don't have SSN. Yes, only either of the two can happen- the BON will let you sit the exam but not issue a license even if you pass OR the BON will not allow you to take NCLEX at all.
