hello my friend, thank you for the very useful informtaion you have posted here. just a question, have you done all these things already? are you done with all of it? how long did it take you? CVS is different from visa screen right? what if i already have a CES from CGFNS already, can that cancel out the CVS?
    thanks and regards
CVS is different to CES and is only required by the NY BON and as far as I am aware you still have to go through it even if you have CES. NY BON do their own assessment based on documents submitted. You can ask the BON if they will accept your CES but be aware they may say no

hello sadtrickresult! welcome! my friend i am very glad that i was able to give you the information u need
here are my answers to your question
1.) yes i have done all of those things that were mentioned above
2.) however the process per se is not finished yet, cgfns is waiting for
this one document to validate if i am really a registered nurse here in my country
3.) i started the process on june 02 2011 and am not done with the process yet some say it takes approximately 6-8 months
but some even had to wait longer..
4.)as regards to the difference of CVS and visa screen i believe everything u need to know has been answered by Silverdragon102 but just to answer your question as well yes they are different, and you would still have to undergo through the CVS process even if u are done with visa screen

another question is you think i can use the requirements that i sent to cgfns for CES and let them use it for CVS? or i have to get a new TOR and PRC thing to pass for CVS. CES and CVS has the same reqts and they are both under CGFNS. i am willing to pay for CVS but having to go thru asking for the documents needed again is redundant. and goodluck to your application. how much time did you put to submit all the needed reqts for CVS? and how much have u spent already if u dont mind.
after the CVS thing, you will go thru IELTS and Visa screen? you are done with the online courses already?
    thanks and regards

All requests when doing CVS is done by CGFNS so they will decide on whether to use same documents or not. IELTS isn't a requirement for CVS unless they have recently changed requirements. If they use your documents from CES then time may be shorter than normal. Usually looking at 6-8 months when starting from scratch

    hello
1.well according to my friend who had undergone CVS first.. then VISA SCREEN she said she did not have to request/monitor for new set of tor since CGFNS already has records of it but this is of course according to her. i can not speak on behalf of CGFNS
    2. it actually took me just 3 days to send all the forms to cgfns.. it took them 3 weeks to send an email confirming that they have received all that is needed.
    3. how much did i spend for the whole thing? or just the cvs?

well CALIFORNIA NCLEX FEE: i paid around $500-600

thanks for the very helpful response. one more question, if i get a non-working social security number, will i be able to claim my nursing license? and if yes, will it be easier to have reciprocity/endorsement to new york? or i still have to undergo the same thing with or without the actual license. thanks and regards

Doesn't matter if it says on the card SSN not authorised to work however you can only get one if in the US on a valid work visa

1.silverdragon is right as long as it says SSN that should do it.. however you can only get one if you're in the states
i have contacted the US embassy and clarified it since i have read that a specific department can issue ssn here in the Philippines
provided that a"STATE/FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES IT" however the woman said that it only applies for Veterans...
    2. Well, i don't think it would make a huge difference NY requires each one to undergo CGFNS-CVS first before anything else i feel like it might take a little longer since CGFNS would have to request for two licensing bodies (PRC and CALIFORNIA BRN) for verification...

i see. in short, non working SSN is also valid to get the license right? well i believe international students can also get a working or a non working SSN. right?

SSN is the same regardless whether it states can work or not. If you get one that states not authorized to work and then you can work you have to go to the SSN office and get it changed however the number will be the same

Students can apply once they have permission to work. It isn't always approved from the start

I would just like to ask one thing. I am a registered nurse here in the Phils.. I applied for my NCLEX last 2009 and took the exam just this June 2011. I stopped at the 75th question and was so anxious to wait for the results. However, almost 4 month have passed and still I didn't receive any results. I was just wondering because during 2009, CA did not require any SSN and I passed my application during that time. But I took the exam just this 2011 when CA BON implemented the SSN requirement. Could I still have my license in case I pass? Also, I haven't received my results til now. Huhu. I just wanna know if I passed or failed. It's not a joke spending a lot of money for a single test. Please, enlighten me on this.
