Call Mount St. Mary in Los Angeles and ask to be in the wait list, but THE LIST IS 3 YEARS LONG! SERIOUSLY! This is the ONLY school that is accredited by CA BRN and accepts IEN with MS/OB defieciencies.

Not totally surprised, as the open slots at any college was limited to 1-2 openings at best. I know SFSU had over 800 foreign students last year, not confirmed but one batchmate told me, it was a student from Russia that got one spot, but not sure if it was a psych class versus MS/OB.

Until the state of CA can get more money to open up more special classes, then things might look up, but the state is broke and budget ctubacks everywhere. To add to this problem, there's not enough clinical hospitals AND a qualified perceptor nurse to assist each nursing student. They are already filled to the top with just their regular enrolled students and those times and spaces will not be given away to students not paying the regular tuition. We just have to wait in line (with a few thousand other international students from all over).

For the above reasons is why the other schools are unable to accomodate the foreign students at this present time.

Btw, MSMC is not the only school with the MS/OB, there's plenty of others (available from the CA BRN site) Here's a copy of Pierce College special form and you'll find other schools have similar forms, but if it's offered (you need to really dig in and sometimes walk-in, as it's too easy to use the phone call to say, "we're full, we don't offer", etc), my batchmate tried but was already filled early last year.....only one opening and mentioned was on a list.

    Here's that link: http://www.piercecollege.edu/departm...ent Policy.pdf

You will notice in Pierce's case they just revised the form in late, 2011 about the same time the CA BRN was rejecting the PH BSN'ers.

Good luck! I know after I posted the Pierce College link (above), many have also applied. Did you ask how many open spots are there? That will be the big question along with how many applicants.

Last time, my batchfriend's friend and all got turned down (lack of space) was the reply.

Yep, that's the case everywhere. There's no obligations of any kind from any of the CA schools as their primary focus is to serve their own existing students who have enrolled in their programs. If it happens it happens, if not, then it wasn't meant to be.

With the already high unemployment rate of CA new grads, these schools don't want to look bad by making any outsiders get the job that all their students are competing for. We should be glad that they even consider trying to help us out.
