I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV? I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:... Read More

I was aware of the breakdown of the hours but was not aware of the concurrency issues since that issue stems from the submission of the clinical cases which is then referenced with your nursing theories.

My friend who was just denied in AZ, says in her letter something like what CA (rejected also) has it's somewhere stated within their Rules and Regulations, under some kind of Professional Codes section. So maybe it's coming from the different states BON information part.

Maybe if you have gotten past their certain deadline dates or month, like what CA did with their recent enforcement, so it's on a case-by-case basis? But I think more and more states will follow CA with the concurrency issues and minimum needed hours.

Again, it would not be anything brand new, just a more strict enforcement of existing rules and regulations. If that's the case, then, all our earlier PH nurses have to count their blessings or there would have been a very few in numbers of PH nurses in those certain years maybe as they were not in compliance with those rules.

I too was recently denied by California and I know how that feels specially after months of submitting so many requirements. Out of the 8 people I knew applying for California 1 was lucky enough to get pass the concurrency issue and was given their eligibility so there are some who are simply "lucky". My denial was based on the same issue and how my OB and OR cases were not concurrent with my NCM100 and NCM101 meaning that some of the OB/OR cases were completed AFTER that school year and not because of the amount of theoretical and clinical hours. Perhaps my theoretical/clinical hours were a factor but according to the analyst the denial was based on concurrency.

I am also aware of some states requiring foreign graduates to have satisfied a certain amount of theoretical/clinical hours and perhaps that could be the basis why your friend was denied in Arizona. We can't simply assume that if one was denied based on the state's rules and regulations that it was because of concurrency unless specifically stated.

Thankfully yes. I just got my eligibility last month.
Congrats to you! Have you taken the exam already? Hope so and you have good news. You are truly one-in-a-million that made it pass the tough CA BON!

You got your ATT in March, correct?

I was only aware of California, Vermont, New York, and Georgia. I never thought Washington would be one of them. Is it Washington D.C. or Washington State. Currently applying for Nevada heard of a Physical Assessment course but the state said it would depend on the situation of the student.
Kuyafern, how did you know that NEW YORK is having the same issues with california regarding the concurrency of the clinical cases? My application was denied too in california and im planning to apply in NY instead.. good thing i read this thread first. i was about to send my application to NY on monday. please let me know about NY. thank yoi

I've only read a couple of posts from Filipino grads who were applying to New York. I am not sure of their present situation but filipino grad applicants were asked to take a certain class(es) in order to take the board. For now I'm considering New York to be my 3rd option. 1st California(my cases don't match the years of lectures) 2nd Nevada(Currently processing my papers through CGFNS. Taking quite a long time i might say.) 3rd. New York(If, and only if Nevada requires me to re-do my cases)

I think you should try apply for New York though, or try calling them if it is possible. It wouldn't hurt calling but might make a huge dent on the wallet paying for the CVS CGFNS. Good luck to you!

I've been trying to call the office but it keep saying to call back because of the high number calls and they only schedule the call on Tuesday and Friday for the nursing applicants. Right, it will cost me about $700- $800 total if i didnt read this thread. maybe i'll try Florida instead. i saw it was not on the list. Mevada needs CES and TOEFL right?i dont know, im gonna gather info first before applying because of what happened in california, i cant afford on paying and wasting money. if i read the posts about CA earlier, i wouldnt continue my application over there. i just wasted my time and money. 

I really don't know about international grads applying in Florida but I really suggest acting fast. Vermont was to open to international graduates but based from posts of current applicants it seems the state has become quite strict. It is odd because it seems like mostly filipino grads are experiencing these problems. I only know of one graduate from ireland who was told to complete their microbiology hours in order to be given an att.

hi there! i already applied for NEW YORK STATE last june. i have the same sentiments, being denied for my reapplication in CA. so far, i already paid the NYS fee and so is the CGFNS for CVS for NYS. i hope that it will still go through, coz i already wasted a lot of money and time for those applications. so far, the progress is that it's still with the CGFNS.
