CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

World Registration

Published

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

I hope Board of Nursing in the Philippines are taking actions on still up coming nurse over what happened.

Someone had mentioned months ago that the CHED, PRC and PNA came over to the CA BON to discuss this matter, not sure what became of that meeting or if it was true.

It's been stated by someone here that they have taken notice as the curriculums have been changed or recently changed to meet the concurrency requirements.

I can imagine the tons of complaints from the instructors, deans and the agencies office being bombarded with calls, letters and e-mails.

I think it remains to be really seen if these changes are the ones that will finally comply with the CA BON minimum standards. It would be a couple of years to see that effect.

Although, someone here said that they did get their ATT being a recent grad under the 4 year schooling?

I asked about it on this forum, but never replied back yet. This person stated they "almost got denied the ATT, but it was not a problem" and did get the ATT.

I have been calling every schools here in cali, still no classes is offered. Cerritos offered but what they have is OB,. my problem is my MS. To think I have the license of vermont, all I need is endorsement but still I got a denial on my application.

Yep, it would still be denied coming back into CA. This is why I and several others have Said, Mentioned, Preached, that it doesn't matter where you get your RN license and then try to endorse back into the final desired State with either the concurrency issue or lacking certain courses or lacking clinical hours.

Why go thru all the fee$ with the application form$, why WAIT for months to get an answer, then pass the NCLEX, then get the license, then try to come back to the State one wanted to be in the first place, then get the REJECTION-DENIAL love letter? I see several people here complaining about not getting their application fees back when they got denied....Hello, it CLEARLY says the application fees are NON-REFUNDABLE! That's the gamble one takes if that's the thing they want to try.

It will ALWAYS be based on submitting the exact same transcripts and records that would have DENIED the application in the very first place! It will ALWAYS come down to the basic main foundation, your educational background, regardless in most cases, even with 8,735+ RN clinical hours.

Sorry I'm not calling you out, just that so many don't get the message. Hello everyone...

Don't bother trying to go around the licensing system, it's NOT going to work! Find what state you want to work-practice in for 5-20 years and be happy there, as in CA and the other 12 states so far is not going to happen in the near future.

what are the other 12 states included?

Its ok. by the way, have you also been denied? on what grounds? what are the other 12 states included? thank you

Yes, kicked to the curb also....so sad.

Someone here also got denied from the state of Lousiana after getting her ATT, then, it was taken back after a "computer error or glitch" from the BON people.

Very nice, was this for the NCLEX-RN or for the LVN exam? Best wishes in either testings!

for the NCLEX RN ..

Hi guys

I just wanted to clarify something....whenever you send the downloaded copy of request for transcript and the breakdown of school record form to your school, is it automatic that the school will also send or include the copy of your cases and all other requirements to he brn in california?or should it be a different request? I really dont have an idea i just came here in cali and i am a graduate from PI

hi kewlNursetobe, when did you apply? did the BON asked for your cases? sorry for asking too many questions, thanks :)

Hi, Just want to clarify something about the logbook because I just recently applied for the exam. BRN also requires me the cases, I am really having a hard time on it specially on concurrency issue about the duty and lecture dates. So, I'm thinking about following your method, since, fortunately our school also requires us to document (logbook) our duties. Do you think is it possible?

Reading the trend today, more and more local RN were experiencing rejection from CA BRN, since because of the concurrency issue and strict policy.

If you may, what is the exact list of documents that your school mailed to the BRN?

Also, If you allow, what school did you attend to??

Appreciate your response. Thank you

log forms you take to the hospital to keep a record of your own cases or case forms you submit to PRC with the chief of nurse signature?

What happened to everyone? Well I just wanted to know if you guys were able to get an ATT for the NCLEX or did some actually enroll on a program? Well if there are any updates please don't hesitate to share.

what did they ask you to submit?
