CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

where did u read that posts about the NEW YORK STATE? could u please post the link? now i am worried about my application for NYS. i submitted it last june. i hope they are not yet strict like CA.

TO Kuyafern: are you referring to those certain classes that are needed prior to taking the exam as the two courses or classes as the child abuse AND infection control ones? If so, I think that's a requirement of any applicants, be them, domestic or international ones, and have to be taken and then if you pass, you get a certificate of completion that has to be submitted to the NY board for approval. If so, the courses are listed for the various providers on the NY website for locations.

Hi steppybay, i hope thats the course kuyafern is refferring to.. btw, do you have any info how much the courses will cost and how long? so, u mean i cant take the exam without completing the course? sorry for asking a lot of questions.

hi shea&cashe!! i actually, hold on to my application for new york. im trying to get some info for florida first. did you pay for the application in NYS before CGFNS? or CGFNS first? wow its two mos. now, still no answer from them?btw, did you attend the course for child abuse and infection control already?

hello! I just got my ATT for NY last week. It took me 6 months to process my application. Hope this helps!

i'm with the same situation as yours guys.

i want to take my chance to other states and i'm eyeing chicago or

whatever state that i may meet the requirements

i'm foreign graduate and have no local license from the country i was educated,

is there any chance for me to meet the requirements of the other states?

if i'll take the test to other states, what are the procedures?

do i have to take the cgfns exam? can i take the cgfns prior to passing the english exam.

i want to take nyc or whatever states what is important is

i can have a license then move to other state rather

than waiting for BRN-CA. i have'nt denied yet, they were

just asking me for additional requirements but i wont waste time

because it's impossible to meet the concurrency requirement.

pls i really need help. additional concern is i dont have local license from

the country i was educated because i have no plan of working there.

i really need ur help guys.
