CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

World Registration

Published

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

Guys, does anyone knw tries to apply in vermont bon or florida? Any updates?

hi melai.. im new here and if you may send me the scanned form of declaration so that i could figure out a way to answer it in advance. i would really appreciate if you send a copy to me. thanks!

Check "Lanze" as this person was just denied from the VT BON also for the courses and classes are unacceptable there. So now another state is joining the bandwagon.

Not a good sign if VT is going this route, as they also recently added the SSN requirement, I think there will be more states to follow this same educational requirements.

try to open this link guys https://allnurses.com/advice-on-immigration/declaration-nursing-education-743404.html they have the copy of declaration form...

I finished all my OR/DR cases before reaching 4th year. Who got approved that finished all their cases before reaching 4th year?

1. copy of clinical rotaion - You have turned this in to PRC when you took the licensure exam. You should have a copy of this or you can ask for a copy from PRC or your school.

2. School curriculum 100 pages... - Your registration form that shows your class, class code, time etc. It is basically the last piece of paper you have after enrollment and before class starts. You have one of these every semester. I'm not sure about 100 pages or more but this should work.

3. Curriculum outline - This depends if you are under 4 year or 5 year BSN. You could ask this from your school and it should contain your grades beside each and every subjects you took under nursing and signatures from dean, coordinators and or instructors, registrar signature.

I'm from california and I have the same requirements as you do. BRN changed or added their requirements just recently and we weren't that lucky. I hope this helps you out.

BRN got strict about completing cases for requirements. You situation wasn't an issue before but now your cases should comply within your scope when you took the clinical cases. If you finished your OR/DR cases before reaching 4th year and it did not correlate with the scope of nursing in your curriculum, then it is a high possibility you would get denied. And yes, they will ask for your school curriculum and registration form for every semester you took in your school. Everything should match and correlate with your cases. I almost got denied because of this, but fortunately, I'm under the 4 year BSN curriculum not 5 year BSN curriculum. I hope this sheds some light in your dillemma.

KukoRoKuko: Did you get the eligibility?

Hey bro, so you mean to say you did receive your eligibility? When did you apply for it?

This is some good news for you! So I take it you'll be doing the NCLEX soon?

It seems like your school changed curriculum to meet the concurrency problems most of us are having.

When did you graduate?

Did you recently apply for your ATT?

i am also applying to take the NCLEX here in CA, my problem is that our dean advice me that all of the applicants who process their papers were denied, some re-applied 3x but they were still denied. im thinking twice ow if i should continue with my application or just take the LVN, any advice??
