CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

so here is my opinion:

im giving up with CA BON right now. i already applied to another state board rather than stressing myself and keep on bugging my school's Dean coz even she does not get it why does my application is having problems with the CA board even though the school is well aware of the concurrency issues. and the school strictly complies with the Phil BON.

The school that I went to is an Autonomous University meaning we are not even under CHED's strict supervision. the school has its own rules that is following the PRC and not CHED. a good example for that is our comprehensive exams were not even touched by the CHED even though students protested using the media. CHED only referred those students and the media back to the school's administration. so i dont really get what on earth is my analyst is saying. it only frustrates me and it makes me out of focus for my exam.

as for me, ill just wait for my application to another state board and then take the exam. it is a lot of money processing the papers again but i want to have a license this year and work already. then re-process my pending application at ca bon. ill have proper documentation first to support evidences of not needing the PRC cases before i talk to my analyst again for the re-application. if i cant still budge the analyst then ill just re-enroll for my med-surg and OB. we cannot really take a stand over them since they can actually play God on us. if u carefully read the regulation it says that it is "solely based on them" as to what made them win the case from excelsior college.

as for ur case, u might want to email or phone ur analyst and expound for more explanation with the letter that he/she sent u.

me too kabayan so eager to sit for the exam so i can work already,but since we are all having prob.with CABON I decided to take the LVN exam first for I dont have the money to enroll for now(even if I havent receive the boards reply yet about my cases,im preparing now my application for LVN exam)..

I already searched some information that if we pass our LVN exam and continue it to RN program it will take us atleast a year to finish...working while waiting for us to be admitted to RN program..

I think we have the same analyst.That's what my analyst told me too.

@ proudpinay,, hello.. i started my application at LVN board i called BRN for the request to send a copy to the LVN they said i need to write them a letter and pay $30.. but others they just send a letter to their analyst via email and free of charge they will send your documents to LVN board. which one did you did???

Hi! Does anyone know here of any progress or changes in the CA BRN new requirements? ugh! it's so stressful. I've heard and read a lot about it. I am hoping they can resolve it soon and make considerations to foreign graduates. I find it so unfair for us who worked hard to have this BSN. Anyway, I am planning to apply for the LVN for now because of that issue. Is it possible to apply for RN to other states like New MExico at the same time? Good luck to everyone!

Apply to New Mexico. Great possibility you will get it. And they process it FAST. :)

What is the postcard which the BVNPT is requiring??

"H. Postcard (55A-7) – Write your name and address on the postcard provided. Make sure to place a postage stamp on the postcard to receive verification that your application was received by the Board.

(Note: Not applicable for applications downloaded from the internet.)"

Guys who are applying or planning to apply for LVN, what's the first step you took? It's more complicated compared to the BRN. Just making sure I'm on the right track. Did you guys know how long will it take us if we take our deficiency? I tried contacting some schools but I haven't yet found any that offers only my deficiency. Thanks!

the postcard is only applicable those who requested applications from BVN. the BVN will send you the application package when you call them to mail it for you. they will include there the yellow postcard. but if you got your application from the internet, it's not come with it. the postcard is only for confirmation they have received your application. but if you want to make sure they have received your application, you just fill out the green postcard from the post office. dont put the green postcard inside your application, give the green postcard to the post office and they will attach it outside your envelope.

the first step is to fill out the application then send it to BVN. then call your analyst to transfer your files to BVN. hope it helps ;)
