Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi ms lani_g85 & ms beatrix!

Yes i will pursue the june alpine health intake. Payment is still to be made. You see my agency will be the one to settle everything, will still ask them if we'g go with the offered accomodation. Hope to settle all before april 2 as stated in the offer to secure our slot. Are you going also? :)

Which agency did you apply with? sgs? I am doing this by myself...I have asked Lonsdale/Alpine health how i can pay by credit card. and have asked for more details for the accommodation. but i might not avail the accommodations coz alot are saying its too expensive. also...i am trying to apply to castlemaine health. tuition and accommodation is 13,000 all in all. and they offer early exit depending on performance...but their accreditation with ahpra is to expire by sept 2013...so i'm not that sure if it is a wise call. may i know your email add sephine?

Hi Sephine,

I just emailed the principal today. No reply yet coz it's Sunday. Hopefully by tomorrow, I'll get an update. I will get the decision from Mercy Health tomorrow. I hope it's a positive one. I just feel hopeless now. You said your agency will be the one to settle everything. Is your agency Philman?

God bless lani_g!! Keep the faith!

What is the name of the insurance company that you applied with?

Bupa, most affordable :)

Greetings everyone!

Just recently got my AHPRA LOE and I'm searching for BP schools for 2013 intake...

Anyone here who has an experience applying to UB/AAON?

Can someone kindly address my query?

1) Must I send my immunization certificates along with the other requirements when applying for the slot?

(My pediatrician is currently out of town, will come back next week.)

Is it possible to send the other requirements first then have my immunization certificates, to follow?

I know that BP school enrollments are filling up kinda fast.. and I'm hoping to get a slot this year..

Thank you!

Guys! Can you help me when do i apply for the health insurance? Is it after the approved visa? Or is it a requirement in applying the visa? Thanx;)

Hi lani_g, I might accept Alpine health's offer...but i am waiting for castlemaine health. I am giving myself 2 weeks to decide. I have asked some people regarding the accommodation..and my cousin and a friend is saying 5500 aud is quite expensive for an accomodation with transportation. most of them survived australia for 3 months for only 3 to 4k aud. I might not avail it. but iam also awaiting for alpine's response to my question as to where they will give the accommodation...meaning, how far is it exactly, inclusions and etc..

Hi sbeattrix,

I have asked my former classmate who finished her bridging course at Alpine Health last year. She said the accommodation of $5500 is just too expensive when in fact flats in rural areas are cheaper compared to those in the city. She told me that students will be rotated to 3 different hospitals in Myrtleford, Bright, and Mt. Beauty. Transportation wise, it is quite hard because the bus particularly the one that travels to Mt. Beauty has a single trip per week. I guess that's the reason why it's expensive. If you try to search the map of those 3 areas, they are not that really close to each other. Other than that, when she had her bridging last year, some of her classmates were provided with cars by the hospital so that they could travel easily to their placements. When I had my interview, the principal asked me whether I knew how to drive. I guess, they will also provide cars during the course period. I searched on gumtree regarding accommodations on those 3 areas and I only saw one which was on Bright. None in Myrtleford and Mt. Beauty.

Hi sbeattrix,

Wow! You're doing this by yourself? You're so lucky to have all the resources to go to Australia. Did you also apply at Castlemaine Health? I have been trying to send my application since Friday but it just keeps on coming back. The notification says the inbox of the recipient is full. I will have to wait until tomorrow to send again. Hopefully, the coordinator empties her inbox so she can receive my application.

Hi sbeattrix,

Oh sure no problem with adding me on facebook. i'll pm you my url because my profile is hidden. Anyway, I still don't have the offer letter from Alpine Health because I just made my follow up today. Hopefully by tomorrow, I can get a reply from the principal and that's when I will decide whether to push through or not. I am also waiting for Mercy Health.

I am risking the resource on such a risky situation. but my situation is a 1 time thing..so if i don't risk now..can't risk in the future. I believe, this might be what God is directing me too..but suffice it to say...doubts is still in the air.

Yes, I applied at castlemaine health. hmmm...i even sent my application twice...just to be sure...how come yours was bounced? did you send it at this email?

*******@castlemainehealth.org.au

I emailed them early feb not taking note of the application dates...and from there...i also asked about travel insurance requirements...she said...she cant assist in that area.

So I really really waited patiently for march 1.

Castlemaine health looks better...but the only concern i have for that is their approval status is only until sept 2013.....won't it be cutting too short? my cousin had problem with the registration because she had her intake at ETEA..it took her 2 months to get her registration. so my parents are telling me to double check the schools status 1st...

what is your thoughts on this?
