Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hello sephine,

I also got additional requirements for UNISA then voila..no more slot. I tried applying to Mercy health, the available intake is for august. Hi sbeattrix

I'm looking for my classmates at IHNA MELBOURNE FEB 2013 :)

Hi sbeattrix

Have you received receipt of application? i was advised to wait for 2-4 weeks after I sent my documents but I received it after 2 weeks. And usually after another 2 weeks your case manager will contact you and you will know if you have outstanding requirements. From there and depending on your case manager, processing could be as fast as one month or up to 90 days.

Why don't you try calling their office if they have received your documents. Good luck!

Yes, in the philippines Because my husband and son are there. My relatives want me to exit in NZ but i refused, One thing more, i already booked a return ticket. I can always come back here and go home every three months since my visa is multiple entry.. And il come back probably when my registration is released. Simply because you cant hunt for a job without it so its useless if you'll just wait here and do nothing.. And about your second question, well, maybe just take these things one at a time.. I cant answer that now since i am still on our placement.. I subscribed to job alerts for pacu nurses and there are lots of job openings in diff hospitals and diff cities. Im just not sure if they do sponsor the 457. You know what, there are lots of posts in here that seems discouraging at times.. U just have to believe with what you can do and pray that everything will turn out the way it should be.. Just pray.. God knows your desires. Godbless!Sent from my iPad using allnurses.com

Do all nurses who took the bridging program guaranteed to have a worked after finishing it for 3 months? Thanks for answering.

NO, how can they? This is not run by the Australian government indeed the Australian government wants to cutback on overseas sponsorship and stricter controls are in place to make sure an Australian applicant has not been found after much time advertising before an employer can sponsor an applicant.

You the applicant have made the decision to apply and try your luck afterwards as you must have a working visa and this requires getting sponsorship from an employer.

At this time many new Australian graduates and those with much work experience are not getting work.

It is election time and it looks like immigration and sponsorship will be decreased considerably if the opposition party are voted in, and that is a big possiblity as at the moment that is very popular with most voters as many people, including professionals, (nurses) are unemployed.

I dont think they are connected with an employment agency.
