Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Annie, I'll be taking BP at the same school. Any advice? Will they be sending information packets regarding the programme? I only got the receipt of my acceptance deposit while I was expecting to get something else from ETEA as they called me up some time ago about it.

You will only receive a letter of offer, tax receipt, and invoice, immunization list. The information packet is sent thru email.

don't you need to have tourist visa to enter NZ?

This thread is about Australia. Asking about NZ have you checked the NZ immigration government website?

Hi since you are just 4 weeks away from completing yuor Bp, what is uour next plan? Are you on 456 visa? Will you go back and process everything here in PH? What do you think is your chances in finding a hospital that will sponsor you? Thanks!

I will exit on my 3rd month, then go back here to fix everything.. Chances? Well, there are lots of job opening for PACU nurses as of the moment. It depends on your nursing experience too. They usually require 2-3 yrs experience here, and i got 4. I guess thats ok. Lets see what will happen. I will update you guys. :)

I called St. Luke's Extension Clinic regarding immunizations and they said they don't provide such services. I don't have any record of my immunizations so I'm guessing I have to have adult vaccinations. These are what I need:

dTpa

Hep B

MMR

Varicella (I had chickenpox during grade school)

TST screening

Can anyone suggest where I can get vaccinated and be provided with its certification (evidence of immunizations)? Metro Manila area please. I'd appreciate any suggestion. TIA

I have my childhood immunization records as well as during college hepa b vaccines...Then I had additional shots for dTpa and mmr and varicella with the college physician since she's my friend...would that suffice or you'd need to go to someone else?

Hi Annie_v2g,

thanks for always updating us! would really like to hear your journey there. Hope and pray you find a job sponsorship. Btw, ETEA has a tie up with an employment agency right?

Any news on what schools still have slots for 2013 intake? Thanks!

Hi.. try IHNA, AAON and WLI :-)

Exit where? Are you going back here in PH? For how long? Isnt there a chance youll get a hospital that will sponsor you before your 456 visa expires?

Yes, in the philippines Because my husband and son are there. My relatives want me to exit in NZ but i refused, One thing more, i already booked a return ticket. I can always come back here and go home every three months since my visa is multiple entry.. And il come back probably when my registration is released. Simply because you cant hunt for a job without it so its useless if you'll just wait here and do nothing.. And about your second question, well, maybe just take these things one at a time.. I cant answer that now since i am still on our placement.. I subscribed to job alerts for pacu nurses and there are lots of job openings in diff hospitals and diff cities. Im just not sure if they do sponsor the 457. You know what, there are lots of posts in here that seems discouraging at times.. U just have to believe with what you can do and pray that everything will turn out the way it should be.. Just pray.. God knows your desires. Godbless!
