Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi guys! I'm a newbie here in this site and have read almost all of what is written in this thread.

I'm a Registered Nurse here in the Philippines and am currently working as a Clinical nurse in a tertiary hospital here in Manila for a year and a half now. I'm really interested in knowing on how some of you guys started the whole process of taking up the bridging program in Australia, specifically for those who took/is currently processing their papers for IHNA, LaTrobe Uni and UniSA-ARNTP.

I would really appreciate it if some of you could help me on how to start with mine OR if you're in the same position as I am, let's try to help each other out. :)

Hello there! Do you have eligibility letter from AHPRA yet? I just received mine last December 2012. I am currently applying for a bridging program course in UNISA, IHNA and Alpine Health. I'm still waiting for the offer letter from either of these schools. I'm from Cebu, by the way! :)

Hi is anyone applying in CON (The College of Nursing aka The Australian College of Nursing) for any 2013 intake?

Hello, i just got my Ahpra LOE,and im wondering whats the best school to enroll in,hmmm been reading your posts,it sounds like CON (dont know the meaning of this though), IHNA, LT, and ETEA are the talk of the town. :D would anyone please shine some light on this query, thanks :D

Hi Krislynciara

I recently finished my BP in CON (The College of Nursing) now its called The Australian College of Nursing. This is located in Burwood, NSW close to Sydney. So far my experience was great. Also, I did not have to undergo interview of any sort. I paid $10k for the course.

Here is their website link: Australian College of Nursing

Hope this helps.

Best of luck :)

hi aabbyy..

i applied for CON and got my offer for April 2013 intake. i lodged my visa last January 14, 2013.

how did your BP with CON go? was it hard? were you able to get a job after the BP?

when you lodged your visa how many days did you wait for the notification for medical and how many days after did you receive your visa?

HI qymburlee,

That's great news. Hopefully you receive your visa on time. My visa took some time because some documents got lost but as long as all your documents are complete you can get your visa in 3-6 weeks time. Once they advise you to have your medicals the usual waiting period is about 1-2 weeks if it hasn't changed.

About my BP, it was good. It wasn't hard. It's just that the clinical placement was a bit challenging, being in a new environment at all but once you get used to it, everything will go smoothly. But really, you will enjoy the BP in CON. :)

I am currently waiting for my 457 visa. Hopefully all things go well :)

Hey, if you go for the April intake, let me know.

Best of Luck
