Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Are they not the same?

Because in ihna, it is called bridging program.. While in con, it is assessment of competence program.. Then, etea calls it initial registration of nurses. I think they're all the same..

Hi cheerup,

Yes, I've decided to turn down the December intake offer (it was a tough decision I tell you!).

I did not apply to other schools because I thought I'd get into the Feb intake next year..

But given the situation, I'll have to start scouting for other schools! Sigh!

Hope you sort out yours soon.. :) God bless you!

Hi dougers!

Try La Trobe University. They are still open for june 7, 2013 intake and the tuition is not too high.. I already accepted their offer :). Hope this could help you..

Hi jap_617,

Thanks for the information, mate. However I can't do June intake because I'll be pressed for time by then. AHPRA said I need to complete my course by September 2013 :(

Oh yes, i have not thought of your expiration date. I accepted the offer since mine will expire by October and i am not on the rush, and got longer time to spend with my love ones.

Good luck on your school hunting.

hi guys,

anybody here got an offer letter from AAON today (December intake)?

hi cheerup! have you decided whether you're going to accept the december or not? i am for december but i don't know yet if i still can catch up with visa and retaking the ielts exam. my agent informed me just this monday that i am advised to take again since my ielts will expire this december.. i got disappointed with them since they never told me ahead of time. i was supposedly for october but got problems then rescheduled it for december.

That's very sad. :no:you're almost there already!

When will your LOE expires?

hi,

yes, sleepless nights, tough decisions :) but I decided to take the slot. my loe will expire 1st quarter next yr and I don't know if AHPRA will give extensions.

I also found out today that I was accepted at mercy health. I was not sure that they would consider me because during my interview, they were concerned that I would finish weeks after my loe expiration date. I decided to go with aaon just to be sure. God willing, I hope to get the visa in time for the bp. God bless on your school hunting! try mercy, they have a feb intake.
