Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

hello,

I am candidate for IHNA January 2014, can anyone kindly guide me regarding few queries:

1- What need to be done for MRSA Clearance?

2-I am about to apply for visa in one to two days- do I need to submit insurance certificate with visa application form or it can be submitted when they asked for it?

3- Do i need to undergo medical before visa application submission or it need to be done later if asked by the visa office?

Hello... How is everyone doing? Can I please ask for your advice? I applied to only two institutions for the bridging (ACN and Mercy Health). Yesterday, I received offer letters from both (must be my lucky day yesterday :woot:) -- ACN's January intake and Mercy Health for their February 2014 program without the need for an interview ('cuz MHTI normally conducts interviews before the offer). I'm torn as to which one to accept. Any thoughts, please? Thank you very much in advance.

hello angel_prias i'm also planning to take BP at ACN.. i would like to ask how'd you go about the necessary document that you've sent to AHPRA? TIA! :)

Hi Manzoor! So you will also be our future classmate?:) Are you for IHNA Melbourne or Perth?

With regards to your questions:

1. I had my MRSA clearance at St. Luke's. No need for special preparations, it is just a screening swab.

2. I did not submit an insurance certificate. Just the necessary documents for visa application.

3. The Australian Embassy will send a referral letter for your medical exam few days after you have lodged your visa. Based on my experience, I have submitted my visa requirements last November 8 and received the notice for medical last November 14.

Hope I was able to help you.

God bless!

Thanks DreamCatcher14 for helping me out, I am for IHNA Melbourne. What about you?

You're welcome! Yes, I am also for IHNA Melbourne, January 2014 intake. :)

Congratulations @pogzRN! :)

Congratulations PogzRn! It is indeed an encouragement to hear good news for other people. May I ask if you could share your timeline and tips for job hunting and expectations? I have revised and revised and revised my CV thinking if that is the problem. I got my registration last september and am still looking for a job. Although my area of specialty which is hemodialysis isn't that in demand..... I still cling to prayers and hope that one of my applications would still succeed. So far at present...I have only 4 dialysis applications that I am able to apply since there were no signage " No sponsorsorship offered". Trying to apply everywhere also but at times, I would get " not relevant experience". Hope could shed some light. Thanks!

Try to personalise your CVs from each employer and you would really have to think very carefully on what to include on your cover letter.Look it up on Youtube or google things about how to make better CVs. Trust me, it will make a BIG difference!

Hi everyone.I am a new member here however i have been reading a lot about bridging program in this thread. I have applied on my own and i just received a letter from AHPRA (nov 7) that i am eligible for the bridging program. I am on the process of scouting schools. My problem is how do i keep in touch with schools when i can't see any link or website posted in AHPRA link. Another problem is how do i get started about the immunization? Does the school gives any forms i would have to accomplished?

Not that my Bridging Program was the cheapest, but try looking up Lonsdale Institute or Alpine Health. They are a combined institute. or email [email protected]; I think they have a January batch. Don't know if they still have slots though.
