Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

i think ACN in Sydney, NSW has the cheapest course fee for the bridging program. up to date, the tfee is Aus$10,000

hi. is there anyone here who could suggest of a good, but affordable accomodation near ACN in Sydney? will be taking a bridging course there this October..

Hi guys! I would just like to ask if what BP schools are highly recommended. I was planning to take my BP at UniSA but I would also like to see my other options. Thanks! :)

Hi everyone! I already got a letter offer from LTU for January 2014 intake two weeks ago, however I was not able to send them the acceptance letter and the payment immediately. To make it short, there is no more available slot for that intake. However, I will be having an interview on Thursday for Alpine Health, but it will be for November intake this year. They require a subclass 600 visa, do you think I can still make it if I will begin to process my visa next week? How long is the process for subclass 600? Pls enlighten me. Thanks! :-)

Visa processing is taking much longer as compared to the processing times earlier this year. You should lodge your visa as soon as possible because it can be granted in few days or worst, you would have to wait for two months or more.

Hi everyone :) its been a long time since I logged in to this site. This site really helped me a lot, just recently Registered here in AHPRA NSW as Nurse Division 1. Currently, Im on the hunt for a job, meanwhile, to those fellow nurses that would like to ask about "college of nursing", "Ahpra NSW", and "visa 600", well ill do my best to answer those queries. god bless

Also, if someone could help me on job hunting, that would be great :)

is it true that finding a nursing a job in australia is difficult right now even if you passed the bridging course? I am a Filipino RN

here in the middle east and I am planning to apply for the bridging course this year and I have heard that the new australian

government is strict in giving working visas to overseas nurses who finished their bridging course. I hope someone can give

me information regarding this. thanks

apparently it's getting harder to find a job. but it's not totally impossible.

and the government is getting stricter on working visa approvals not only for nurses but in general.

Thanks for the reply. I am planning to apply for the bridging course this year but I am having second thoughts of leaving my work here in the middle east because as you said they are getting stricter in issuing work visas. Do you think I should still go for it and take a big risk? Or should I wait until they relax their policies regarding work visas? My ielts exam will expire on Feb 2015. I don't want it to go to waste but its kinda hard to decide right now? I hope someone can give me a good advice. Thanks

Hi everyone! I just want to ask those who had their BP recently at ACN, would you know when will the earliest intake for 2014 be? Also, where was your clinical placement located? Thanks. :)

it's totally up to you if you want to take that big risk. Research some more, like job opportunities in your specialty, etc. The thing is, nursing shortage is easing, too. Right now they're still issuing visa for nurses so nursing is actually still a little bit safe even with the restrictions. But even without restrictions, you'll find it hard to find a sponsor if you don't have enough experience.

I have an offer letter for both IHNA and Alpine Health, January intake. I am still pondering on which one to choose. Maybe someone can help me decide. :-)
